There’s one danger to Dunguib in this race…….he get’s struck with lightning
November 11, 2009 at 19:09 #258269Rhyll Accord a horse I’m very-much looking forward to seeing back on track. His bumper form with Sweeps Hill is very smart.

Tell that to Lee Trevino!!
November 11, 2009 at 20:30 #258282Quel Espirit could give him a bit of a run for his money. Mullins seems to like him, so you never know.

(Grade 1) €55,250.00 ( 2m – 4yo+ )[MAX 25] NHFrm23543 1 Alice Bradys Call (USA) (MissMADoran) – (123)
40083 2 Deise Dan (TMullins) – (99)

11-81 4 Shinrock Paddy (PNolan) –
-2122 5 Some Present (TMullins) –
1-211 6 Sweeps Hill (NZ) (JEKiely) –
46154 7 Takestan (POBrady) – (118)Looks like Dunguib has scared off most of the opposition. I wasn’t impressed with Shinrock Paddy on his hurdling debut so I think Sweeps Hill and Some Present will be the dangers to the fav. Wouldn’t surprise me if Some Present turned that Punchestown form around if there’s a proper pace on but there’s no guarantee they’ll go a good gallop given the likely small field.
November 24, 2009 at 18:46 #260332Finally we are geting some really good novice hurdle event. Mullins has nothing in it and that is a surprise but the weather has played havoc. Dunguib should scoot up….although Kiely’s animal looks a very good animal i can’t seeing him beating the new Arkle of Irish Racing

H’dle (Grade 1) €55,250.00 ( 2m – 4yo+ )1 Alice Bradys Call (USA)(123) (MissMADoran) – (C). 11,10
2 Deise Dan(99) (TMullins) – (T) . 11,10
3 Dunguib (PFenton) – BTO’Connell . 11,10
4 Some Present (TMullins) – DNRussell . 11,10
5 Sweeps Hill (NZ) (JEKiely) – APMcCoy . 11,10
6 Takestan(118) (POBrady) – JLCullen . 11,10Tom Mullins obviously making sure Some Present gets a proper pace by running Deise Dan. I think he can turn around the Punchestown form with Sweeps Hill but they’ll both have their work cut out against the fav. He could be a 7/4 shot for the Supreme Novices come Sunday evening.
November 27, 2009 at 23:11 #260882Brian O’Connell is turning professional this weekend. Hopefully his first winner as a pro will be a Grade 1
November 28, 2009 at 11:37 #260922I love hype, so let’s hope Dunguib can continue to win on the bridle and remain unbeaten all the way to Cheltenham.
I want this ‘will he, won’t he run in the Champion’ saga to continue.
I was really taken by Loosen My Load at Cheltenham and Some Present should be a good yardstick today.
November 28, 2009 at 22:13 #261081I shall probably back Sweeps Hill each-way as I expect him to confirm previous running with Some Present and wouldn’t be surprised if he gave the favourite plenty to think about. The favourite was a brilliant bumper horse but his two hurdle don’t amount to a great deal and he doesn’t look completely straightforward.
November 29, 2009 at 04:06 #261105Sweeps hill has already been slaughtered by Dunguib once. No reason to think anything else but the same will happen.
Not sure why you think he doesn’t look straight forward. Only thing i’ve seen is that he wants to run 2x faster throughout his races because he’s so far superior to his opponents!

If you were half as sick as me you would know what sick is
I need him to win his next 2 races to pick up a big pay day and now that might include the Supreme Hurdle….life sucks

Clearly it doesn’t always follow that bumper form translates to hurdles so your comment doesn’t make any sense.
Also you are basically saying the horse pulls too hard which in my mind equates to not straightforward.
