Depending on whether the Godolphin operation have already earmarked him as a replacement for Frankie, Mickael Barzalona would have to be the shrewd move.
February 19, 2012 at 11:10 #392418Barca has potential yes, but is currently over-rated. Likes to anchor them out the back. When they go a good pace it might look a "well judged ride", but so often leaves it too late. Sheikh H likes his horses to be up there near the pace, that is not Barca’s way. Silvestre (imo) is the ideal replacement. Fantastic judge of pace and likes being up there.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 19, 2012 at 11:13 #392420The greatest sportsman I have ever seen, the greatest I ever will see.
We’ve all heard the phrase ‘group horse in a handicap’ being used to imply a horse is chucked in. Well, in his last big race Richard quite literally took on a dozen or more group horses in a handicap and beat the lot of them at 20/1.
He steps down at the height of his powers. An absolute legend.
We salute your Sir.
February 19, 2012 at 11:17 #392421I Agree zarkava, i always loved him as i stated earlier, and yes his record is quite good considering, but hes the sort of jockey that if i had £1,000,000 to put on a horse, i dont think i would be confident backing a richard hills favorite!
Will be missed, but i fully expect him to start training, i normally see him in my local waitrose newmarket so will have to ask him his plans…
Really hope he trains,
May be a big shout, but i can seriously see him doing very well!

First time on a horse and was a natural! Think in a finish with Richard Hills it would have been a close one!
February 20, 2012 at 00:20 #392548One of the best judges of pace in the weighing room.
33% strikerate in handicaps in 2010.
Will be missed by me (and the Betfair forum), if no-one else.
Not by each way backers though
One of the worst for dropping their hands or not riding for a place if beaten

I’m saddened that Richard won’t fulfil the prediction you made after Entifaadha won the Acomb of sweeping the classics in 2012.
Then again, I see the same animal is entered for the Meydan Classic on Thursday, so maybe "classic" glory awaits him at least one more time before retirement.
