I know, this is a syndicate with 38 paying members, but the money offered for She’s Perfect was more than insane. It comes down to roughly USD 66k per member. How much more value increase can you expect?

Probably atleast £2.5million pounds tbh if she wins on sunday, which she more than likely will

But i tend to agree, i think basher said he has 7% in her? Its a fair amount tor be turning down, all the talk about a dream is fine, but turning down $200k isnt a good play, probably got 40s on his investment, the syndicate running must be paying him atleast that a year in profit to be turning down that kind of return, even then, would you turn down a years salary if someone offered you it for your 7% in a horse that you basically dont own? I dont think anyone woth a brain would

Maybe im in the wrong game

Hes quite open on his social media about it all which is very refreshing to see. Apparently it would have been 20kish per 1% share and those shares cost £600 initially so when you look at it like that, its a hell of a return on investment. The only thing is nobody gets into racehorse ownership expecting to turn a profit surely? Even the massive owners like JP McManus with all his prize money for winning Gold Cups and Grand Nationals probably lose a fortune most years.

Watched a bit of Basher Watts on you tube last few months , i find him very interesting and he clearly loves the horses as much as a punt . He is sort of person racing needs .
As for sale , logic is always sell , but i think the disqual is an itch that needs scratching for them , and in reality Shes Perfect can give them some cracking days out in next year or two if she stays healthy , they are very unlikely to ever get another one so good . Although BW does seem to have decent gameplan selecting the few he has as he has couple with at least some ability at bread and butter level .
Be fantastic to see her win this weekend , really enjoy seeing younger people involved for the racing not the booze up .

Had a thought , what would the winner of that Guineas be worth if SP is 2.5 mill , winner is steeped im Aga Khan bloodlines .
Having watched his short video on it , i kind of see it , its not like a gelding whos worth a tenner when they finished , she has msssive residual value at end of career anyway .
I know of someone turned down a lot for a gelding to HK , that was a huge
error as it turned out .

When he first started out on YouTube with his honest day punting stuff I thought he was just another Racing Blogger type but I saw him on Nick Luck and some of his stuff since the ownership and he does seem so much more relatable and while good for racing might be a stretch, hes not bad for racing like I think Blogger is most of the time.

The 2.5 million look even better after the Diane. She only is a Maiden winner at Haydock.

Interesting to consider the trainers angle on this and it seems likely he’d be extremely keen to keep the horse. Because apart from her, his stable is in the midst of an almighty slump.

His figures for year are 3/71 and those three winners were all on the AW. His last turf winner in the UK was back in September. And you can’t sustain a large stable (120 boxes) in the middle of Newmarket on those sort of results.

No way to know what’s gone/going wrong, as he’s done OK up to last year, with a reasonable strike rate and a fair amount of prize money. As well as plenty of success with horses running overseas, including in Australia.

I read somewhere Fellowes is struggling or it may have been on one of Bashers videos Fellowes mentioning it.
He had done well in OZ but with one horse Prince of Aaron who was one out of the box , he did handle him well though .
It’s not like Haggas and Appleby who bring out horses below top liners and clean up , Appleby was winning forfun in OZ before he focussed elsewhere , Haggas just wins every spring and Autumn with something .
I really hope they pick up a group 1 with She’s Perfect , or a decent race somewhere , see how French Guineas winner goes this week they will be hoping she bolts up to frank the form as that was poor today .

If she’s a non stayer the Japan money might drop as well , they like stayers and go out hard in those races .

Looking at BW video of trip this weekend , you cannot buy that kind of day out , win or no win. Those guys riding the wave , good on them . Hes got a great attitude to ownership too .

I’d have been extremely p***ed off if I was in that syndicate and the ‘no-sell’ vote (presumably they voted) had gone through.

They might have a made a pigs ear of it with this horse. I would have accepted the offer without hesitation but having turned it down why would you up the horse in distance when she didn’t do much wrong at a mile?
Could have put her in the pre Ascot sale and entered in the Coronation Stakes. Who knows how much they might have got at the sale and if she didn’t sell well they still had the Coronation to look forward to.

“I’m afraid Shes Perfect has had a setback, it will be touch and go as to whether we see her again this year,” said Fellowes.

Just saw that Nathan, here is the link:

Okay, an autumn target is not the end of the world, but she still remains just a Haydock maiden winner. I wonder what some of the syndicate members think now.

Probably ran down her value to Japan a bit last start , but still worth a lot , when shes sold the difference split so many ways might still make the decision reasonably sound. They will never have one good enough again to run in a Clasdic with a live chance .
Another question is do they throw loyalty aside and give it a roll with a better trainer as he isnt going that good . Decent run in States by the colt the other day tho , get out on lead on their tracks could suit her style .

“I wonder what some of the syndicate members think now.”

I’m sure there are those in the syndicate who wanted to accept the offer, but you can’t keep all the people happy all the time.
