It’s like Carry On General Election you really couldn’t make some of it up.
    Sunak – Charles Hawtrey
    Starmer – Bernard Bresslaw
    Farage – Sid James.

The more I know the less I understand.

For anyone who missed it, here’s the election broadcast to which Richard referred:

    Truly painful to watch.

I didn’t think it was anywhere as cringing as Starmer and Gary Neville.

Surprised the tories haven’t attacked Rayner and the left a bit more. I suggested right at the start that there could be problems ahead for Starmer as he tries to move further and further away from the left.

In 5 days he’ll be PM , the question is how much time will the public give Labour to start turning things around , inflation is down to a manageable % , they’ll be pressure to bring interest rates down by at the latest August , the Tories have a big decision to make on who replaces Sunak , this is different to when Blair went in , the public want to see quick results

The latest leaflet from the Conservatives is just full of Starmer bashing. It’s downright nasty. Our Labour candidates, Samantha Niblett is a breath of fresh air compared to our current Conservative on, Heather Wheeler, who was one of the ones in tears when Johnson had to leave No10. All she has done for the past few years has been to defend her hero.Oh and she also defended Cleverly when he called Stockton a s******e.

Front page of one of the Sundies states Starmer will ruin the country in 100 days …it took Truss much less time

The ‘can’t be any worse’ Prime Minister. That’s how this election feels to me. I don’t think there is any real optimism that he will do a much better job, if at all.

    Scaremongering.

    It’s all the Tories have.

And ‘look at the last 14 years’ is pretty much all Labour have had to offer as a counter. That’s why the election debate has been so dismal.

The last fourteen years is actual evidence.

As I said people are voting on the basis ‘things couldn’t be any worse’. They have zero evidence that will be true.

In my eyes it’s a rubbish choice. As a long time Labour voter, I should be cheering, but I’m not.

“They have zero evidence that will be true.”

With all due respect, stilvi, that’s an inane argument.

Why? It’s you that quoted the past as evidence, so surely the future is an unknown. What I said was true, but for some strange reason you have decided to have a little pop.
