Never heard of her, who is she?

I've stumbled on the side of twelve misty mountains
I've walked and I crawled on six crooked highways

Someone who your average Tory/Reform voter probably wouldn’t want let in the country if she wasn’t married to a rich bloke by the looks of it.

Now one of Sunak’s protection officers has been arrested for betting on the election date:

…..I feel like the only one not to have had a bet on the date of the election …. Starmer must be lapping this up

It seems there were quite a few of them at it. Yet another open goal for Labour.

It’s hardly crime of the century really, it’s more the optics of already well remunerated people further lining their own pockets. The only losers are the bookies which isn’t something to lose sleep over. Unlike so-called betting coups it’s not even the case that other punters were cheated. I don’t think there’s any grand conspiracy, Sunak decided the date and those punting were simply being opportunistic.

The latest one has ”allegedly” placed multiple bets, will their account now be closed..

Having to chuckle about this betting story.

Of course using inside information for personal gain would never happen in horse racing.

I’m really annoyed with myself for not checking the political stuff on oddschecker given that I ( as a lazy punter) spend so much time looking for blue across the board horses to back. Did they place the bets at 4/1 or did the price come into 4/1 because of their bets?

THIS REPLY HAS BEEN REPORTED FOR INAPPROPRIATE CONTENT

Can someone explain, preferably the person who reported it.

I think I am allowed to chuckle without offending the police.

So does this person think inside information is not used in racing? If so they must be living in cuckoo land.

    Please show yourself.

It happens from time to time Stilvi, but is usually just a slip of the mouse from ‘reply’ to ‘report’

Can’t believe anyone would object to your post

Those who placed these dodgy bets seem daft enough to have used online and/or phone accounts. If you want to try and put one over the bookies then anonymise yourself by betting with king cash in a shop, preferably far from home

Thanks for clearing that up. It seemed very hard to believe that anyone would object.

It’s the fact that these already grossly wealthy guys still felt the need to break the law to make a few grand on inside information. The fact one of them placed 12 bets of 100quid shows how brain dead and entitled they are. Loathe the lot of them and the demise of them can’t come quick enough. Had posh boys at my college and most of them, not all, were the most annoying, boring, entitled arseholes it’s been my displeasure to meet. Not all bad mind you as they got me free tickets to watch the cricket and I met loads of famous folk who I’m sure I bamboozled with my working class humour helped by copious amounts of becks. Mind you I got sunburnt after too many shandies. Looked like Bowie with one side of my face burnt.

Another week then I’ll be able to sit and watch the fall of the right , I wonder which poor Tory bar steward will be stuck on election night trying to explain the massacre ….

I’ve decided that I’m not going to listen to or watch the news until 5th July. All you get is the same desperate drivel from the Tories in every bulletin.

    It’s pathetic.

Politics doesn’t really interest me but are these the two worst main candidates to attempt to put their cases forward.

The more I know the less I understand.

It’s close, but I’m giving the verdict to Thatcher and Kinnock in 1987.

I’ve just put myself through a Conservative Party Political Broadcast. Nothing but scaremongering, attacks and lies. Even threw in their latest buzzword ‘supermajority’ which has absolutely no meaning whatsoever. They tried a cringeworthy football analogy. Absolutely desperate stuff.
