Assuming it wasn’t a stunt, then I do think it’s perfectly reasonable as a political protest to throw milkshake over Farage. As ever Ginge you always go to the extreme to try and justify something. Anyone intent on serious assault isn’t going to be influenced by someone throwing milkshake. They will do whatever they want to do anyway.
Recently, people have been injured in crossbow attacks. You can legitimately just buy these lethal weapons. There is no reason why any sane person should buy one. That is something to worry about, not someone splattering a clown with milkshake. Perhaps instead of this ridiculous intervention, Yvette Cooper can look at something more serious like this problem.
June 4, 2024 at 19:42 #1696983Throwing an unknown liquid over the leader of a political party, I’d say
that’s pretty serious. I don’t think a fine or community service gives
the right message. I think she should get a custodial sentance to discourage
other idiots.June 4, 2024 at 20:00 #1696985It wasn’t an unknown liquid, it was milkshake. Have you heard of anyone being seriously injured by milkshake?
Custodial sentence? Are you being serious? Costs of cleaning his horrible suit would be more than enough.
June 4, 2024 at 20:39 #1696986Can’t remember anyone calling for custodial sentences when people threw eggs at John Prescott, Jeremy Corbyn etc. Indeed many of the same people now screeching “assault” were publicly rejoicing in Corbyn egging.
June 4, 2024 at 20:50 #1696987I believe the bloke who got Corbyn with an egg rightly got a 28 days custodial sentence, Tonge.
Value Is EverythingJune 4, 2024 at 21:00 #1696989When Prescott got hit an egg was an egg.
Things have changed since the murder of Jo Cox and David Amess.
Value Is EverythingJune 4, 2024 at 21:33 #1696991Again Ginger you have pressed your extreme button. The ‘weapon’ of choice here was a milkshake.
June 4, 2024 at 22:27 #1696997I was not aware of that GT but not surprised as he smashed it into Corbyn’s head rather than threw it and therefore made physical contact which could potentially have resulted in injury. It’s a fine line between “prank” and “assault” but I would definitely class launching of benign foodstuffs from distance as the former. Worthy of no more than a fine – and even then, only if the victim chooses to press charges.
June 4, 2024 at 22:34 #1696998Worth noting too that the student who threw eggs at King Charles in April last year got a community order and small fine.
June 4, 2024 at 22:49 #1696999Rumours circulating that the whole thing was a stunt and that the “assailant” is known to Farage.
June 4, 2024 at 22:57 #1697000I wonder who started those rumours?
Could it be Farage’s enemies?Value Is EverythingJune 4, 2024 at 23:01 #1697001That really narrows it down.
June 4, 2024 at 23:03 #1697002I think any policeman would disagree and be disappointed with you, Stilvi.
You don’t seem to realise the encouragement you’re giving to anyone who wants to attack any politician.
Value Is EverythingJune 4, 2024 at 23:13 #1697003“Again Ginger you have pressed your extreme button. The ‘weapon’ of choice here was a milkshake”.
…And there are people who argue the “weapon” social media use abusing politicians of all shades are “just words”.

So you knew what was in the liquid did you Stilvi when it was thrown. The only person
who knew what was in that cup, at the time it was thrown, was the person who threw it.
What if the next one contains some caustic substance? I have no love for Farage, but
what it was the PM, would that be equally fair game? When someone is hit by liquid thrown over them, the first thing they think of is,
what is this?. If you think there aren’t people out there who wouldn’t think of
throwing something a lot more damaging then you need to open your eyes. What about
Jo Cox, shot and stabbed to death or David Amess stabbed to death in his constituency
surgery. There are people who think they are fighting for a cause. There has to be protection for MP’s and leaders of a party. What if the next one isn’t
a milkshake, would you not say we could have seen this one coming? Trust me, there are
dangerous people who would be able to carry out such an act. Thankfully many are stopped
by intelligence before they occur, but not always.Tonge, I think the King Charles incident was at the behest of the palace not to incarcerate
the student ( who missed with all 5 eggs) he was given a 12 month community order, 100 hours
of unpaid work and fined £714.June 5, 2024 at 08:55 #1697017Spot on BigG.
Value Is EverythingJune 5, 2024 at 09:02 #1697018Moving on,
How do you think the debate went yesterday, Stilvi / anyone?I was very disappointed how Starmer didn’t seem to want to talk about what he / the Labour Party would do in power. That throws alarm bells for me – considering what he promised Labour’s left wing when trying to get elected as Labour leader. Yesterday it was all – vote for me, I’m not a Tory.
