Sorry Richard but I really have no idea what your post means.
I've stumbled on the side of twelve misty mountains
I've walked and I crawled on six crooked highwaysJanuary 25, 2023 at 11:00 #1632104Just pointing out press hypocrisy.
For example when it was their men in the dock over illegal lockdown gatherings they were telling us it was a waste of police time but as soon as they thought Starmer was at it, we had a two week campaign in The Mail.
What I mean is they are quick to point out when taxpayers money is being wasted but very little about the actual Chancellor apparently not paying his taxes.
They constantantly tell us that the BBC is biased to Labour but silence when the Tories are appointing their cronies at the top of it.
I don’t think they’d attempt to sweep these stories under the carpet if opposition politicians were doing it.
January 25, 2023 at 19:05 #1632165Anti-Tory: The Guardian, The Independent, Financial Times (in recent years, surprisingly), Daily Mirror, Daily Star (when they cba to take a view).
Pro-Tory: Daily Mail, The Sun, Daily Express, Daily Telegraph, The Times (but only very slightly).
In terms of aggregate sales, the MSM is still significantly more pro-Tory overall.
Anyway, difficult (again) PMQs for Sunak today, but Starmer not entirely convincing as you can’t demand an independent inquiry one day then demand a pre-emptive sacking before the result of that inquiry is known the next.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"January 25, 2023 at 20:18 #1632179Anti-Tory – ITV and not just its news progs. McCall mobilised her ‘troops’ a couple of years ago. The ‘tone of voice’ of reporting on the main ITV news bulletins leaves no doubt they’re pushing Starmer’s Labour. Secretly, i suspect those ITV journos are hoping for a backdoor ‘return to Brussels’.
Yes, of course, it’ll be difficult for the Tory govt to turn things around, but as one who expects any recession to be shallow and short a small chink of light likely to appear later this year.
Latest polling looks good for Starmer, except on what his policies are. This likely to come more into focus as the year progresses.
There are a number of ‘doubts’ that linger about Labour and actually getting vote support at GE. They prob appear minor in great scheme of things but may still ‘trip Labour up’.The treatment of Rosie Duffield at hands of her own MPs is nowt short of disgraceful, just for standing up for women. Ben Bradshaw and others at forefront of aggressive heckling. The Gender issue is one that could easily explode and the Red Wall voters and Middle England wont be easily convinced.
Immigration will come into focus – Labour will have to say what it’ll do.
Spending on projects – Labour will be hand tied – i think Starmer’s already knows their plans will be mothballed.January 25, 2023 at 23:25 #1632195I would say MSM includes the TV so we have BBC, ITV, C4, C5 and Sky for the left versus GB News and Talk TV.
The TV is received by many more millions than the papers so would say MSM as a whole is very much to the left.
January 25, 2023 at 23:51 #1632199ITV as a commercial TV station historically used to be clearly pro-Tory, but I’d argue it’s more neutral now and any apparent anti-Tory bias simply mirrors the issues that have engulfed this government since 2020 and their low poll ratings.
Plenty of Labour voters think the BBC is pro Tory and as I’ve said before the fact all Parties seem to think the BBC is against them means the BBC is broadly neutral too.
C4 has a definite anti-Tory bias and I havent watched any of the other channels in recent years so couldn’t offer a view.

You’ve just proved your own point.
January 26, 2023 at 09:14 #1632224What point Richard?
January 26, 2023 at 09:55 #1632225That people on the right say media is left wing biased. There are plenty of examples of this all over the place, as there are of those on the left saying it’s right-biased.
None of these people are making things up, they see examples of the media having a go at the government or painting Labour in a bad light. The bias in play here is as I said before confirmation bias.
If you want a left wing take on the news on TV you have Channel 4, GB News is there if you want a right wing view. All of these channels are available to just about anyone with a TV or Internet connection, you don’t even have to pay a licence fee to watch online content from anyone other than the BBC. It’s all there if you want it, many choose not to but that’s up to them.
January 26, 2023 at 10:07 #1632227I forgot another channel where politics is rife, youtube.
But all I see is mainly people on the right on there who have effectively been cancelled, or have no place on the BBC, ITV, C4, C5 or Sky.They just would not ‘entertain’ them.
January 26, 2023 at 10:15 #1632228Youtube is quite capable of ‘cancelling’ things too, as is Twitter, which is run by a ‘free speech absolutist’ (his words):
https://theintercept.com/2023/01/24/twitter-elon-musk-modi-india-bbc/
I’m not sure that anyone making Youtube videos can really claim to be ‘cancelled’ given that almost anyone with an internet connection can freely access it.
January 26, 2023 at 15:14 #1632265Yes they have Richard, MSM won’t have them on.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"January 26, 2023 at 16:09 #1632274The cons have done nothing to suggest they are turning things around, indeed as each day goes on the public will only feel their concerns just haven’t been listened to, or addressed.
Sunak has to go now and the only way the Tory’s will win is by bringing someone in like Lee Anderson in there.
Would love to see him shake things up and he would get things done. Trouble is it’s been exposed there are so many left tory globalist MPs, they need to go as well.
January 26, 2023 at 16:14 #1632275Can’t see this will be too riveting!
The Toff has his own show.
January 26, 2023 at 18:19 #1632294We’ll have to agree to disagree on cancelling then. Anyone can make a Youtube, Twitter etc account and broadcast their views to anyone who wants to listen and best of all it’s completely free (or as free as it reasonably can be).
We do agree on Lee ’30p’ Anderson though, I would happily see him made Tory leader tomorrow
January 26, 2023 at 18:44 #1632295Never heard of him, can’t be much use.
