I only wanted to bet one ante-post in this, but with Spyglass Hill and Fier Jaguen both available at 20-1, they have both been taken
I’m particularly keen on Fier Jaguen if he runs, but Spyglass Hill looks the one for money at this stage
March 20, 2024 at 15:25 #1687537I like looking at those who have run in the race before, and I backed Fier Jaguen like losing was out of the question last year. He is a very backable price now.
Time Leader is another one catching the eye. Finished fifth last year, and ran a commendable race at Cheltenham. I’ll be taking a closer look nearer the time.
March 20, 2024 at 20:00 #1687570Still used to calling this race by the removed word from name Not looked at this or Topham in depth yet as some entries also down for national and Irish national

March 28, 2024 at 10:53 #1688494This is a strange one for me, and he couldn’t be further removed from the type of horse that I’d normally be interested in, but I’m betting Solomon Grey here if he runs.
He’s a bit with head, bit with heart. I’ve followed him since me and my mates went to Kempton after a long week at Cheltenham. I told everyone to punt him, and there was a bit of edgy craic when he didn’t win.
Those at the front of the market are in a different league to the old boy, but I’ll be betting old Solomon to pick up the scraps and make the frame at a big big price if he gets the nod here. He is 100/1 right now
April 7, 2024 at 15:36 #1689297There is a fair bit of guesswork for me in this, so I shouldn’t be having an ante-post, but I’ve bet Fairly Famous 33-1 ew
April 10, 2024 at 00:01 #1689478Bit of a token gesture bet for me with Annamix around 5’s. Short enough for me I reckon in this race, and kicking myself for not taking the 10’s. I was keen on The Big Lense, as my traditional big priced loser in this, but ground totally against him now anyway. If he miraculously acted on it, I’d maybe consider in running
Annamix
April 10, 2024 at 19:01 #1689556Anyone looking for a good each way poke can get 7 places at Betway (18 have to run from 22 declared). Obvs their prices will be skinnier than others with the biggest price on offer 66/1.
Anyway, I have gone the other direction and backed BENNY’S KING at 5/1 with said firm (will either fall or finish eighth). Runner up last year, ground is favourable and 13 year olds have won this from time to time. I doubt we’ll ever see the 1950 winner HILLMERE surpassed as the oldest winner of the race at the grand old teen-age of 17.
April 10, 2024 at 19:46 #1689562Lieutenant Rocco 33s
April 10, 2024 at 20:23 #1689575Capt Tommy for me and trying to get me Anti post for the Cheltenham non entry on Tea Clipper.
Good luck all.April 11, 2024 at 11:55 #1689682My pin has landed on Annamix ew 5 places
April 11, 2024 at 12:05 #1689684Got a little carried away after my main hope didn’t go and have gone with Time Leader, Lieutenant Rocco, and Espoir De Guye.
Can’t wait to see the big fences in action again!
April 11, 2024 at 12:30 #1689693Pin drop on Rebel Dawn Rising.
The more I know the less I understand.
April 11, 2024 at 15:48 #1689741Got the ew buttons on Cat Tiger at 40-1, knows his way around the fences.
April 11, 2024 at 16:22 #1689758Good effort from Benny the teenager. Fingers crossed for the injured jockey still being attended to.
April 12, 2024 at 09:10 #1689882The winner’s redeemed himself after letting me down badly at Cheltenham.
To be honest, I thought he was an absolute mile better than these and a steal at 9/2.
He is an extremely difficult ride though and puts the handbrake on when in front. The loose horse was no doubt a Godsend here. - AuthorPosts
