Kwai be very very careful what you say i know Lorna she is a good friend of mine and my family.
February 21, 2008 at 22:25 #145376I like the whole Bradburne family but I don’t think that Lorna was born to do this job.

February 21, 2008 at 23:16 #145391Yes they are a nice family Lorna treats her horses like pets, they have a great life, anyone that says horse racing is cruel should visit there yard, you could live in the stables at Cupar!!!!
February 22, 2008 at 06:01 #145407I mean if there was no sound at all, it would sound peculiar. Obviously the REAL sounds woul be better, but given the choice, I’ll go with the effects.
And for all those that grumble about the camera angle: thank God we don’t do it like the Americans do with their split screens and over powering graphics so you can just about make out that there’s a few horses galloping in the distance somewhere if you squint hard enough.
February 22, 2008 at 08:45 #145420Lorna looked uncomfortable on RUK yesterday she always seemed relaxed on ATR when presenting at Newton Abbot or Taunton perhaps having to front the whole show rather than do occasional links is not for her.
February 22, 2008 at 17:22 #145583I’ve not shared a studio with her yet, but on the occasions she’s done the OB stuff on Betfair Radio she has been nothing less than professional and utterly imperturbable. This included on Greatwood Day at Cheltenham, where she was still broadcasting in the worst weather imaginable long after most others had decamped inside.

February 27, 2008 at 14:10 #146845Couldn’t disagree strongly enough with that last statement – terrific TV presences, both.

February 27, 2008 at 19:57 #6877Anyone know who this fella is and what his background is? A real breath of fresh air. Clearly knows what he’s talking about and gets it across in a proficient manner.
Edited original thread title now we know who he is.
February 27, 2008 at 20:06 #146890Clifton
Used to be racing manager for Favourites Racing, now works for Cheltenham (I think)
February 27, 2008 at 20:07 #146891Never heard of him before but he’s excellent. Not often you hear someone who’s done his homework on any racing program. The kind of pundit you can listen to and pick something up from, very few of those around imo.
Up there with Steve Mellish on tonight’s performance, lets have plenty more of him.
edit: Its the the other Andy, not the Cheltenham rep.
February 27, 2008 at 20:09 #146893Thanks Lincoln Duncan but it’s not him. He was on earlier and made a fleeting appearance but isn’t the main guest.
February 27, 2008 at 20:16 #146894Its Andreas Konstandinou or something like that. He supposedly works for Betfair Radio.
February 27, 2008 at 22:46 #146961Andreas Constantinou’s the chap, and yes, he’s a Betfair Radio pundit also.
Anyone – rightly – impressed with him this evening may like to know he’s appearing on BR this coming Sunday and Monday as well, on both occasions serving as the pundit whilst Lorna Bradburne presents.

February 28, 2008 at 07:24 #147051Jeremy, how many plugs for Betfair radio can you get in to one week’s contributions?
February 28, 2008 at 08:51 #147064Let’s see, shall we, Nick?

(No, really. I’m done with plugs for the time being. I was just mentioning Andy’s engagements for anyone suitably taken with him yesterday).

February 28, 2008 at 09:49 #147072I taped last night’s RUK stuff ostensibly for the promised Cheltenham guff but ended up sitting through most of the action from Kempton (with some handy fast-forwarding) solely because I found Andreas a breath of the freshest air, if like Mellish a little too hyper. Diligent homework on both the modest fare from Kempton and Cheltenham, articulated in the clear, relaxed, confident and entertaining manner of one who both loves the sport and takes his betting seriously.
What’s more he seems to be a value punter with a preference for NH, so couldn’t help but warm to him really.
Hope he is used regularly, though if he and Steve Mellish ever go head-to-head I fear I will be left at the start, not under orders.
