I have no problem when using an iPod touch but with my laptop its the same and i cannot get onto the site fully.

No problems here, Neil, at 10:43pm. More with the sluggishness of TRF!
November 10, 2010 at 23:40 #327435I’ve lost count of the amount of times it has completely frozen on me in the last few weeks. All very frustrating and time consuming.
November 11, 2010 at 04:33 #327455is sh!t…
Baffles me why people pay money for a service they can receive for free elsewhere.
All the data RP offer is freely available elsewhere. And if it’s video form you’re after then with Sky +, RUK/ATR highlights etc, then do you really need to pay to watch a recording of a race? (this is a general question and not aimed directly at the OP)

To be fair,
not
all the RP website data is available free elsewhere: the "industry" section in particular cannot be accessed except by subscribers. Likewise aspects of the breeding database, and the "Spotlight" comments, which have been of great value for years.
November 11, 2010 at 09:40 #327472Pinza – I wasn’t aware people were still having speed issues with the site. It seemed to have gone quiet after we’d done soem streamlining.
Is anyone else having problems with TRF speed?
November 11, 2010 at 09:51 #327473cormack, TRF has been sticky here for the last few days, through both a Doha and UK server.
November 11, 2010 at 11:31 #327492Thanks Cav – I’ll pass that on and see what we can do.

Corm, TRF’s current round of stickiness has not been consistently bad, for me, but in the last few days loading of pages (especially "Post a reply" for some reason, perhaps as a personal hint!!) has been sporadically slow.
It seemed to start for me when the latest round of "You’ve not visited TRF for 93 years" emails arrived, if that’s any clue…
November 11, 2010 at 16:39 #327535Thanks Pinza – all clues gratefully accepted.
November 13, 2010 at 01:07 #327738Talking of sticky sites……….does anyone else find Oddschecker particularly sticky ?
It seems like everytime i go on there i end up with ‘Windows not responding’ and have to close down and start again……………
November 13, 2010 at 07:56 #327746Oddschecker’s individual race pages are big containing timeform verdicts etc. They take a long time to load.
It’s annoying but the info is useful.November 13, 2010 at 09:24 #327751Mornin’ Cormack…
Speed not a problem this morning but unable to access PMs…getting the following:
"General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]Got error 28 from storage engine [1030]
An SQL error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact the Board Administrator if this problem persists.
Please notify the board administrator or webmaster: noreply@theracingforum.co.uk"
Also "Mark All" doesn’t seem to work and AFAIK never has.
Not a major problem but perhaps you could look into it when you have the time.
Thank you.

November 13, 2010 at 09:38 #327753I seemingly have to refresh the Racing Post website as it appears to have finished loading, however, doesn’t display the page.
Same can be said for if you click a link to a horse’s name, you get the pop-up box with races, form, entries, etc… yet, that pop-up window doesn’t load on occasions too.
All rather annoying.
