Think the ground was against Megallan today Austin and he is yet to win over a mile.

Derab half brother to Enable also had question marks over the distance and was taking a big step up in class.

St. Mark’s Basilica was running his 4th race in Gp.1 company and although he was not proven over the distance he had won his past races in a manner that suggested he would stay. :good: Jac

I’d favour the Champion Stakes over the Arc at this point in time.

SMB looks to have too much speed for 12 furlongs and 10 furlong Grade 1’s will make him more valuable as a stallion

I don’t see the point of running smb over 12 furlongs. Coolmore are always looking for 8 to 10 furlong stallions to cover their staying types although if he went for the king George I’m sure the race could be set up for him. Hopefully the eclipse then the juddmonte int then maybe Irish champion. It would depend how the older 12f horses were doing whether they would have his swan song in the arc. I know it won’t happen but looks a cracking horse for the cox plate.
