How big a certainty was State Man in a handicap last time? No wonder he was backed like defeat was out of the question that day.

In the opener I’ll stick with old Neverushacon. I said on Thursday, I thought he was looked after, and he’s a very nice EW price.

I’m really keen on Class Conti in the next, and he’s main selection, though as I’m going for it last day, I’m happy to have two backups in Easysland and Scoir Mear (cashed out Anibale Fly)

Man O Work is my Antepost selection in the 4yo hurdle, and I think he can acquit himself well, and still looks a fair price.

Ten Ten is a horse who’s let me down more often than not, but I’m back for more, and no way is he a 33-1 shot. I’ll never learn. Just the one backup here, and I went with Wa Wa.

The big handicap hurdle is always a real headscratcher, but I’ve no concerns with Peregrine Run off a break, and I think he could run well at a big price. I’m considering two backups in this, including Saint D’oroux, but definitely adding The Shunter.

Far too many selections, but last day of my season, so just going for it.

    Neverushacon 20’s EW 4pls
    Class Conti EW 5pls/22’s
    Man o Work 33’s EW 3pls
    Ten Ten 22’s EW 5pls, 33’s EW 4pls
    Peregrine Run 40’s EW 6pls

    Backups/Savers
    Scoir Mear EW
    Easysland 25’s
    Wa Wa 16’s
    The Shunter 16’s

Bobby Ten Ten was my seesaw horse today …I wish you well but I’ve left him so if he wins I’ll be sick as a dog , 2 plays at Punchestown

Epantante , she should be a good thing

Anibale fly , this has surely been the plan all season , placed off 5lb higher last year surely the swansong and after being the bridesmaid so many times deserves to go out in the winning enclosure

Well done with Jezarus Wilts, great for the young jockey too. Pleased with El Barra, he enjoyed himself. Poor Rightplacerighttime, the fall was horrible. Honeysuckle was her usual fab self and there were some nice horses out yesterday, my eye was drawn to OMoore Park in the bumper. The ground looks in beautiful order, you could lie down and sleep on that grass. Like VtC I’m going to let rip a bit on the last day, mostly ew

2.35 Standupandfight with Aine O’Connor’s handy claim and old Hurricane Darwin
    3.10 Agusta Gold and Waitnsee
3.50 Burning Victory and Stormy Ireland with a bit more ease in the ground than at Cheltenham, and BV’s tongue tie on to keep her going
    4.25 Popong
5.00 Not going to oppose Vauban so will just watch this one. Il Etait Temps looks even more mental than Taxformax, I wonder if he will settle
5.30 Peregrine Run off a low mark, Mi Lighthouse
6.05 Ballybay to round off The Mullins Show

Just watched the replay of yesterday’s Hunter Chase.

Maybe I am being harsh but isn’t there an argument for saying that the jockey on the favourite should have kicked on when Billaway made that bad mistake? He was on a horse connections said stays strongly. Why not go forward, take two lengths out of Billaway and put him under a bit of pressure?

Instead, he sat still and allowed Billaway back into the race. Then it came down to a jumping contest at the last and he fluffed it.

As I say, perhaps I am being harsh but I am not convinced it was good, tactical race riding.

I’m pleased that I didn’t get round to putting my selections up yesterday as I didn’t fare too well

I’m having another try today though

    1435 Mitchouka 12-1
    1510 Anibale Fly 9-1
    1550 Burning Victory 12-1
    1625 Cavallino 12-1
    1730 Mi Lighthouse 22-1

    Played Grass

Yeah HDLG, proper Cliff horse, but I had to have a go at 22’s, 33’s, though ground looks against him.

That was a really gutsy win by Marie’s Rock.
Tough watching today though, didn’t look good for poor Class Conti going down on the flat, and now Ten Ten.

Thanks folks. Got a nice ew from Waitnsee as well. Agree Marie’s Rock was really good, I was hopping for little Stormy Ireland to hang on and she tried her best but just couldn’t do it. Poor Class Conti, I liked him and it was tough for that to happen, and Ten Ten as well.

Cork, in the hunter chase I wonder if Vaucelet’s jockey was afraid of giving Billaway something to aim at? The winner is such a monkey he was trying to pull up the moment he hit the front.
