Today’s hex lands on
4.15 El Barra ew- bled in the Marsh, which he has done before, but his form before that was good and he won in spring last year. Got Jack Foley taking 5lb off
I can’t oppose Elimay so put her in a double with El Fabiolo and in the big race will just watch Honey do her thing
6.00 Kilcruit
6.35 Vaucelet
7.45 Don ChalantApril 29, 2022 at 09:08 #1596048Two more today. Kilcruit should like the track and trip. 6/1 is generous, win only. Went with another Mullins second string in Bring On The Night. Taken off his feet in the Supreme but did very well to finish 4th, staying on at the end, given it was only his second hurdles run. El Fabiolo flattered by the Jonbon form in my opinion.
April 29, 2022 at 10:16 #1596051Surely if anything it’s the opposite?
He was the one that had trouble in running at Aintree- 2nd start of his life for WPM to do that?
Agreed on BOTN though, shaped nicely i thought in the Supreme given his inexperience…..he’s been punted and rightly so for me, Ha D’or was a poor 2nd fav.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!April 29, 2022 at 11:43 #1596061El Fabiolo was somewhat flattered by the Aintree run. Clear to me Jonbon had a bit of a Cheltenham hangover. Every chance EB beating the ones he faces today however.
April 29, 2022 at 13:02 #1596071How are you measuring that though? At least tell me it’s your opinion based on something?!
Yes plenty do not go Chelt-Aintree and win but he had 20 odd days between the races. However, plenty do. El Fabiolo’s come back from a setback having not raced since xmas?
Watch the race back, there’s only one horse that had trouble…

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!April 29, 2022 at 13:45 #1596075Based on the Cheltenham/Aintree factor and my own conclusion once the race was run Jack. The following also left their best form behind at Cheltenham, but unlike Jonbon they weren’t able to pull out a win….Pied Pier, L’homme Presse, Edwardstone, Flooring Porter. El Fabiolo ran well, but imo if Jonbon had missed Cheltenham he would’ve won by more than the winning margin on the day.
April 29, 2022 at 14:45 #1596091Added Jezarus in the 3.40.
Best of luck to all
April 29, 2022 at 15:47 #1596110Booommmm!!
April 29, 2022 at 15:51 #1596113Good shout. I was getting greedy with Speaker Thomas and the arse goes tumbling at the first, never mind the horse and jockey.
Absolute waste of a week for me and that race sums it up. I dunno what to think, whether to pack it all in or wonder if I’ll be stronger for it
April 29, 2022 at 16:17 #1596121My oh my! How fortunes change in this ‘game’!
Gabbys Cross down at the first
Actually the commentator got it wrong, so did I; GC still going – only watching on my phone.April 29, 2022 at 16:24 #1596125WD Green
April 29, 2022 at 16:25 #1596127El Barra and Busselton giving Bob Olinger (and GDC!) a boost!
April 29, 2022 at 16:43 #1596131Good winners Grass and Wilts, well done.
Jack, I’m with Mike. I don’t think Jonbon was at his best at Aintree, almost certainly due to the short gap between races. Yes lots of horses take their racing well but lots don’t. It’s an opinion based on watching the race. Not saying he was poor by any means.
April 29, 2022 at 17:30 #1596137Yay Honeysuckle.
April 29, 2022 at 17:33 #1596138I don’t believe the mighty Constitution Hill saw anything to worry him there.
