Well hopefully plenty agree with you so I get a nice price on my winning slip :good:

Maybe I should bet in play though as I want to see him making the running, even if I’m betting after one fence as he needs to bowl along and jump them silly

Galopin Des Champs is a lovely prospect, but he hasn’t yet proved himself for me the way Constitution Hill did in the Supreme.

Neither has really proven themselves have they?

    Winning novice races?

Well, one has beaten a subsequent Grade 1 winner by 22 lengths in a time over five seconds faster than the Champion Hurdler, while the other was 12 lengths clear of a less-than-natural chaser who it turns out wax injured in a race run in slow time.

I know which one has proved most so far in my book.

Fair enough, i just said neither have and as many have proven in the past looking superstars- it’s the open company that’ll settle who is the second coming or not.

Jonbon was beating a horse having his second start after time off, and was a fortunate winner IMO. Both look fantastic horses for the future….

Agree though Galopin’s race fell apart and he needs to do it again and stay on his feet.

I really like Galopin Des Champs, but I think his Cheltenham Gold Cup odds are very short based on what he’s actually done so far.

I don’t feel the same way about Constitution Hill.

Game of opinions, though – good debate IMO.

Everyone that I speak to seems to be in agreement that Constitution Hill would come out on top here, although I do think people are cooling on Honeysuckle too quickly. For what it’s worth I don’t think that he will make the trip, but I’d love to see him there. I was blown away by that run at Cheltenham, and I think that he’s next year’s Champion Hurdle Winner.

The other horse I’m hoping to see before the jumps season is over is Vabaun. I know that it’s a difficult transition for the juveniles, but I think that he could Buck that trend.

Sadly I won’t be betting either of them here, as with my bets, it’s hardly worth it at the short prices.

I’m not sure which race would suit him best, but I hope that Chatham Street Lad runs at the meeting. I really liked his run at Haydock, and I’m sure that he’s been held back for something.

Had a second Antepost for the meeting with Burrows Saint in The Irish Gold Cup. Lots to do, but I always thought he had another big prize in him, and after exit midway at Aintree, that race hopefully hasn’t left too much of a mark on him.

Hard to see him winning it, but he could maybe pick up the pieces. If he did go, I could actually see me getting better terms on the day, but quite happy to have an early bet. Still like Janidil as well, but he had a hard fall on Monday, so we’ll see. As usual I’ve got to give Galvin a mention, but I’m hoping that this will be the first step in shaving a few pounds off for Aintree next year.

Bob Olinger running over 3 miles next week. Hopefully the real Bob shows up.

Bob Olinger can win without my money on him at Punchestown next week.

Ok, an injury has come to light but, even prior to Cheltenham, he didn’t look a natural jumper of fences to me.

Not one to take a short price about and would be better off returning to hurdles and trained for next year’s Stayers’ Hurdle IMO.

He doesn’t look like he’s brave enough for fences to me

He gets over them but at his own pace and rarely flies them He gets in close and pops

Too soon to write him off as a chaser. He’s effectively had one chase start where he was fit and had gotten some jump experience behind him, i.e. race 2, and he jumped fine. And his main market rival next week is the horse he beat in that race and has an unseated rider next to his form so not exactly bombproof in the jumping department himself. Looking forward to the race.

It’s all about the price for me.

If Bob Olinger was a big price I’d take a chance on him, but he’s likely to be very short.

If that’s the case I will just watch and see if he gets his chasing career back on track.

Capodanno is almost joint fav with bob, I thought there’d be a bigger difference considering bob beat him 6 lengths in january but maybe its because the ground wont be soft this time

Ian- galopins form has far mor substance to it than CH’s the “time” of the race at chelt that people keep coming back to is just plain stupid, the races where ran completely differently

Novice chase grade 1s have more substance than novice hurdle grade 1s, due to the fact the majority are grade 1 hurdles winners, so its a bit silly to say that CH is a fine price for a CH but GDC isnt for a gold cup…. Neither should be fav is the correct answer

The opinion only lies on whos the better value, which is GDC, by miles (i wouldnt bet either yet fwiw)
