A horse i was always confident about being a better 4yo is

    Parisien Pyramid

,he has ran well enough at Newmarket as a 3yo,but more than anything he looks leniently handicapped,i am expecting at least a place today, knowing his new connections will want to do well with him! I have had £20 e/w at 14"s with the Tote.

    What another disapointing day!

    Seta

was never at the races today and i have to forgive that run!

    Parisien Pyramid

on the other hand had every chance to run a place and yet failed by the shortest of margins?? TAPK is having a frustrating run but it comes with the territory! 8)

Voler’s sister runs in the last at Down Royal tomorrow. Colm Murphy’s horses don’t often win first time out but Voler ran an absolute cracker first time out. It doesn’t look like the strongest bumper and she’s got talent

The Ascot Gold Cup is not a race i have ever really played Ante-Post,

    Far Cry

at 50/1 would have been my last proper AP bet in it and that was because he was owned by a pal of mine,i still have flashbacks now to how we were robbed by the Stewards  . Anyway this year i have got high hopes of both

    Age of Aquarius

    and

    Kite Wood

becoming Gold Cup horses and so i have had £15 on each at 10"s and 12"s on the machine! Memories of the St leger haunting me now! A King has to face up to these demons and Soldier on to victory!

The Chester Cup is a race i have had a fair share of luck in over the years, particularly following Barry Hills,i recall Rainbow high running 3 years in succession and with any luck should have won all 3 times! His last victory was under top weight as a 6yo,so there are similarities between himself and this years contestant from the Hills yard,

    Tastahil

,who has ran some credible races in his time, particularly when finishing third to Geordieland and Patkai over an extended 2m at Sandown last year, its just a shame he has an awful draw as i would give him a very big chance! I have had a fiver on at 34 on the machine and £15 e/w at 20/1 with the Tote,i have also had a tenner on

    Som Tala

at 16"s on Betfair too,4th time lucky for this fellow!

Being a great believer in Luck, fate and destiny,i am convinced its my turn to face the demons of horse racing and the illogical process that one has to endure when things are not going the way you become accustomed to! Being someone who has a Positive outlook on life in general,i refuse to let the negativity of a losing streak bother me!Tomorrow,a horse i have held in very high regard runs at Chester, the trouble is,he has become a rogue and like a typical male has been having a power struggle with Hayley Turner and winning!Jamie Spencer needs to show him who the boss is,so i have backed him at 14/1 with Paddy Power.£30 e/w.My philosophy surrounding this bet is that i would be very tempted not to back

    Syrian

on what he has achieved but the way my luck is at the moment,it would just be typical that he goes and wins, that would be a "Kicking a man when he"s down" scenario,so to speak,so i am applying a touch of reverse psychology!!! If Jamie wins the battle of who"s boss,i expect Syrian to be different class to this field!

Zenjah, you come across as though you are smoking something illegal as you pilot your magic carpet to the "Age of Aquarius"! If i knew this horse was being targeted for the race i would lump on at 10/1.

Hey King – this cracked me up…for real! Esp – like the use of creative tippin’ there…

I prefer a double carpet myself!! &…for the ‘Gold Cup’ you’ll find me window shopping in the 25/1 bar…right now!

For the stayers event…I shall be keeping a close eye on plans for the one named after a place in Africa!

Any thoughts for the intermediate events POW & QA after the weekend…

Do you believe that the ‘Rip’ is a ‘shoe in’ for either?!

Fair play and best of – you were unlucky today…

    Zenjah,if i was Aidan O Brien i would send

    Rip Van Winkle

to the Queen Anne for the mile and

    Fame and Glory

for the Prince of Wales over the 11/4m,so long as the ground isn"t too firm! If Paco Boy and Rip Van Winkle run to their very best,Rip Van will eat him!I still believe Fame and Glory will be an even better horse over 11/2m and has King George written all over him,

    Harbinger

is the dark horse for that race too!

    Delegator

is my "Sprinter" for this season as i believe he has speed to burn!

Tomorrows Victoria Cup at Ascot is its usual competitive self and i like the look of both

    Dhaular Dhar

    and

    Mirrored

, both have good course form and come to the race with a prep under their belt.Mirrored ran a cracker over c/d last summer against another horse i have a high opinion of,Fareer and at 70"s have had a £7 win on Betfair and a £10 e/w bet at 50/1 with the Tote,i have also had a tenner e/w on Dhaular Dhar at 20/1 with Ladbrokes! Here"s hoping!

If ever a combination were made for each other,(No not AP and Denman!) its AP and

    Arcalis

,the grey as he has got older obviously needs a bit of cajoling these days and AP will be at him a long way out, ideal for betting in running purposes, for a place anyway!I remember my old pal winning the John Smiths Cup at York and he was as game as a pebble that day,a trait he lost when sent over fences, now that he"s back to a very lenient mark he has to be worth an interest today at 16/1 with Bet365.I have had £15 e/w!

TAPK cant pick a winner for Toffee but he knows talent when he see"s it and this "Over the Rainbow" thats on BBC 1 every Saturday has a girl called

    Jessica

in it and this girl has it all! She has made it to the last 5 now and trades at 2/1 2nd fav to Danielle! I haven"t had a bet but will be willing her on,i could have had 16"s early on but kept leaving it and leaving it like a Muppet!

Classic TAPK! Both the above girls ended up in the bottom 2 tonight with poor Jess getting the boot! Not the last we have seen of this confident talent i hope! :D

This thread clearly shows that if i was riding a Rollercoaster, the damn thing would be stuck upside down at the top of a loop! Of course my pockets are being emptied faster than Gordon Browns drinks cabinet, but at the bottom of this ride is a pot of Gold and there"s a long way to go to get there!

    Workforce

hopefully runs in this weeks Dante and 2nd place is no good,he needs to win like the colt i think he is,i must have watched his maiden win at Goodwood last year a Dozen times now and the more i see it the more i think having come from his draw, weaving through the pack and literally bolting clear without ever being touched with the whip, shouts Class to me! TAPK will take a price on Thursday to do a Dante/Derby double! In the meantime i have had £50 e/w on my favourite flying machine

    Inxile

at 12/1 with Bet365 to win the Duke of York,a few showers are forecast so anything other than fast ground will suit both the above colts! Hold on tight, things are about to speed up again!

Amazing how some of us have been shouting

    Workforce

from our Soapbox this spring, almost like Arthur Scargill used to back in the 80"s,i just hope mine doesn"t get kicked from under my feet! What amazes me is the amount of negativeity i"m reading from all connections,as far as i"m concerned the colt is running in the race i expected him to run in en-route to the Derby! Obviously the stats boys will tell you if he doesn"t win today,he doesn"t win the Derby! I am convinced this fellow will win on ground faster than ideal and win with authority so i have had £50 with Ladbrokes at 14/1 he does the Dante/Derby double! The clocks ticking!

Any other race and you would say

    Workforce

will come on a ton for that run and he defineately hung due to the ground, unfortunately he is a beast of a horse who will hate Epsom if the ground is like today, should there be any cut at all and i would still give him a big chance! We"ll see when the dust settles! In the meantime i have got to stay loyal to

    Fareer

today, this fellow will love the ground and i am convinced he is better than a handicapper i missed the 12"s but got £30 e/w on at 10"s with Ladbrokes!

There was No Paco Boy today in this field of handicappers and i cant believe Hills and Ladbrokes had 5 horses ahead of

    Fareer

in their markets this morning.I must say that the horse is suited to waiting tactics off a strong pace but Richard rode him perfectly from the front to steal it today! Just wait till

    Collateral Damage

gets his toe in,there is still a nice race in him too! After deductions a return of £397 can be removed from the losses!
