GEZORA 4/1
Whirl is favourite but she more 1m2 horse but I think Gezora will improve more up in trip after
French oaks win.September 3, 2025 at 17:33 #1739352Even though it is 12F race, the French style of racing lends itself to Whirl being able to dictate her own fractions on the front and turn it more into a 10F race which I believe is her optimum trip.
Last year’s Arc runner up Aventure probably the biggest threat given that she has had the speed to win twice at Group level over 10F this season before on her last run finishing 2nd to King George winner Calandagan.
September 6, 2025 at 18:48 #1739518I’ll try Bedtime Story ew at 16s. She has to get a happy ending some time.
September 6, 2025 at 19:31 #1739523As ive said all season,
Best horse in training this year is Whirl,
Will win this doing handstands again and will win the arc
My season has revolved mainly around her, piling on to her for this @5/6 and anything evs or better ill be steaming into, wont even bother saving on the 2nd fav
Been hammering her for the arc at all sorts of prices since june, will be 2/1 fav by tomorrow and miss minnie will be off to ascot
September 6, 2025 at 20:31 #1739524Another behind Whirl I’m still surprised he is not favourite for the Arc currently 6s

She’ll run away with this one.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...September 7, 2025 at 15:03 #1739561I went for Aventure who should be thereabouts.
September 7, 2025 at 15:38 #1739570Well done Ruby. Bedtime Story ran quite well, I’ll probably back her again next time
September 7, 2025 at 15:40 #1739572Thanks green. I’m just not the person to back odds-on shots in big races, especially if it’s only a trial.
September 7, 2025 at 15:41 #1739573Whirl is human after all

Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
September 7, 2025 at 16:32 #1739580Whirl still had the run of the race but had her head to one side for the whole race and I can’t say I have noticed that before in her previous races but she just didn’t find anything once she came of the bridle.
Lets not forget that the winner was runner up in the Arc last year and was runner up to King George winner Calandagan last time out so Whirl really shouldn’t have been odds on for the race based on that and her own form (the earlier season win against Kalpana not exactly holding up as the strongest form now and she had the run of the race at Goodwood when she beat a miler with the other two giving away ground from a flag start).
She clearly has run below par but you have to have some questions about her going forward (unless anything comes to light to explain the run) and I seriously doubt we will see her in the Arc off the back of that.
Personally I have always thought that Minnie Hauk was the better of the two anyway (open to more improvement as she only does little more than the bare minimum in winning) and it would appear that she could be Coolmore best chance of winning the Arc, especially if we don’t get real testing ground.
The winner is clearly going to be a big player in the Arc as she really was taking quite a pull during the race but this result must be all the more galling for Calandagan’s connections (and Goliath’s who won today in Germany to) and hammers home the point of why it is daft that geldings still can’t run in the Arc.
September 7, 2025 at 22:16 #1739596Well done Ruby and LD.

Whirl ran a pretty tame race today and very impressive run from Aventure.

It’s been a while since we have had superstars like Frankel, Sea The Stars and Enable horses that really got your heart pumping.
Always remember Enable beating the ill fated Sea Of Class in the 2018 Arc what a race that was and what a great filly Sea Of Class was too.💓Perhaps Whirl was missing her regular jockey it was certainly a lack lustre run and perhaps it might be best to draw a line under it this time as she wasn’t given a hard time once beaten.

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...September 7, 2025 at 22:34 #1739598Thanks Jac. I think heading to the Arc we’ll be seeing genuine autumn horses handling the conditions better than the more exposed ones that ran regularly throughout the season. Whirl was just too busy this season, starting back in April and always running at the highest level. If it wouldn’t be for Ballydoyle, one smaller owner might decide to call it a day for the season. Or just consider one more softer run, but surely not the Arc.
It’s always a weird race and so much can change once the wet wether reaches Paris. Imo, NOT the ultimate Flat race on the European calendar.September 7, 2025 at 22:54 #1739599Agreed Ruby good point..
something like White Birch maybe who has been lightly raced and has some big Group race entries this Autumn.
