I can’t seem to find entries for the Abbaye so I’m assuming there aren’t any. I’m really tempted to back Total Gallery but I’m still reeling from the Kings Stand when he shook of the G1 penalty. He hasn’t been the same although ran well enough last time at Newbury. He was in much better form going into it last year though. That’s why I like Astrophysical Jet but I think I heard she wouldn’t be going to France.
Markab will want better ground I think, Swiss Diva is an obvious choice and Sole Power could line up after his Nunthorpe win.
Total Gallery and Prohibit would interest me at this stage
September 22, 2010 at 23:51 #318818There are entries on the France Galop website but for some reason it never works after midnight…will post them in the morning.
September 23, 2010 at 01:58 #318825I’d have no reservations at all about backing Markab on easier ground; infact, the softer the better over a short five furlongs, for me. I’d fancy him grinding it out from the front and out-staying them.
Looking at his form, it’s easy to get the impression that he’s vulnerable with cut, but it’s not the reason for his defeats on the surface IMO.
September 23, 2010 at 02:17 #318827Incredible, it’s decided to work.

September 23, 2010 at 08:05 #318836Anyone else have the suspicion that Total Gallery will do an Equiano next year?
Weak 4yo campaign and a strong 5yo one
September 23, 2010 at 10:55 #318871Equiano had a wind operation between the 2.
September 24, 2010 at 12:44 #319082That explains it then…
Sole Power confirmed to target the Abbaye. Into 7/1 with Bet365 but as big as 14/1 with VC.
Can he follow up? I think so
September 24, 2010 at 12:56 #319084Sole Power SHOULDN’T be 14/1, so it may be worth a nibble. Hope Zebedee gets supplemented, think he will turn out to be a very special horse!
September 29, 2010 at 17:31 #320064He’s 14/1 with Corals, BlueSquare and 888 now. Are you will to try him on soft ground?
I’m close to picking 2. When is the Final declaration stage? i.e. the equivalent of the 5 day stage in uk?
September 29, 2010 at 19:24 #320085Markab a non runner (scoped dirty)
Next public appearance at the Oct horses in training sales
September 29, 2010 at 22:47 #320113The ground went against Markab and he was ‘excused’

Didn’t you tip Dar Re Mi and Sariska for the Arc then they were retired?
If so the same has happened with Zebedee, Weird!

Is Lady of the Desert running in this or not?
She was very impressive the other day winning with a ton in hand and when her trainer gets them on song they’re usually very hard to beat.
Class filly and very tempted to back her but she can wait until I know for sure.
September 30, 2010 at 13:51 #320174She’s been supplemented Fist.
3/1 top price the Lady with Bet365 and Powers.
Arctic would be interesting on soft/heavy ground – looked a very smart 2yo under those conditions last summer and is surely no 33/1 shot with give underfoot.

Thats one of my two…the other is Planet Five. Another who potentially has more to give (and will need to) on the forecast ground
September 30, 2010 at 20:40 #320216I think
Bluster
is a tempting ew proposition at 33/1.
Beaten 2L into second by Swiss Diva last time out (War Artist / Marchand D’Or behind). Had previously defeated Planet Five at Chantilly – that horse would frank the form by beating Piccadilly Filly, who would later run second in the Nunthorpe.
He handles testing conidtions and his form figures at Longchamp read 32352.
War Artist
is generally on the premises. It would appear the ground has gone against him, but he has handled soft conditions in the past and was beaten less than a length in this race last year. 16/1 is still available.
September 30, 2010 at 23:20 #320240Fair point Bosranic but Bluster beat Planet Five over 6f…
Bluster has not won over 5f in 7 tries since his debut in ’08. Planet Five(furlongs!) Has had one career start over 1000m and won. Interesting.
Still, 33/1 probably over-estimates the difference in their chances
