Am a fan of Nyaleti. The only Two horses that have beaten her in last two starts are first and second favourites for the 1000 Guineas. Would have been closer to September in the Chesham but for over-doing things in front. Ran well in be the Cherry Hinton last time, behind my 1000 Guineas bet, Clemmie. However, going is a major concern by USA stallion Arch and a prominent runner in a race with seemingly loads of front runners, including stable companion Rebel Assault. Latter disappointed on softest ground she’s run on so far. However, if this was firmer ground Nyaleti would be 5/4, not 9/4.
Dance Diva won a listed race at Newmarket, having the advantage of the rail whilst runner up stable companion Maggies Angel (placed, though well beaten in Super Sprint since) raced wider. Yet to run on a soft surface but is by soft ground horse Mayson. Around 11/4 looks pretty short now.
Godolphin’s Spring Cosmos won a Newmarket maiden on her only start, making all. But they’re usually ready first time and may not have significant improvement in her. Can understand the money at a big price for the other one start filly, Musical Art. It didn’t look a great Newbury “maiden” but Paul Cole’s two year olds usually come on for the run and is fairly well bred.
My main bet is the Mick Channon trained Neola, 4 lengths behind Heartache in the Queen Mary on what was possibly too firm for her. 1/2 length second to Main Desire in a listed race on pretty soft ground, should be suited by the extra furlong and may get the race run to suit – probably importantly, one of the likelier hold up horses.
Other one I’ve backed is the maiden Mistress Of Venice, handy last time when only 3/4 length behind Nyaleti. Held up when a good 3 3/4 lengths 4th in the Albany at Royal Ascot. Before that just 1 1/4 lengths behind Neola in that soft surface York listed event on only her second start. Seems over-priced.
I’ve backed Neola @ 8/1 as my bet to win most with a lesser bet on Mistress Of Venice @ 17/2 and a saver on Nyaleti @ 9/4.
Value Is EverythingJuly 29, 2017 at 12:39 #1311764Dance Diva carries my money @ 3/1. Unexposed in this company and ground in her favour. Doubled and trebled with D’bai (2.25) and Enable
July 29, 2017 at 12:49 #1311767Nice write up Ginger, I must admit I’m with Charlie on this one. I like the look
of Dance Diva. I know she’s pretty short, as you said, at 11/4, but I think there’s
more to come from her. She did have the advantage of the rail last time, but that
aside I think she won with a bit in hand. I’ve taken the 11/4, but I can see her
going off shorter.July 29, 2017 at 13:57 #1311785Nyaleti annihilated them. Super impressive.
July 29, 2017 at 14:10 #1311791Nyaleti 25/1 for the Guineas with Ladbrokes, don’t think you can beat that price anywhere.

Distances exaggerated by the ground, but pays a compliment to both September and Clemmie.
Value Is EverythingJuly 29, 2017 at 14:44 #1311799No chance in a guineas imo, 7f tops.
Johnston will probably run her 20+ times this seasonGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026

Johnston will probably run her 20+ times this seasonJust because a trainer runs them more often, Nathan: doesn’t mean it reduces the horse’s Classic chance. All depends on the type of horse.
Suspect Nyaleti will be one of those that – although “training on” – others will improve past her at three.
With a well grpwn two year old who takes her races really well, makes perfect sense to keep her on the go whilst others are trying to catch up. They’ll catch up even if staying in her box. Lowther and Chieveley Park are the obvious races. Whether she’ll go for something in between – possibly.Value Is EverythingJuly 29, 2017 at 15:03 #1311803There’s better guineas horses as there is without having to improve past her already. If She runs in the guineas she’ll finish last

You’re missing the point again, Nathan. If you had a horse who was at the peak of its ability… Yes, there might be 2 or 3 better than her already (September, Clemmie and Alpha Centauri) – but wouldn’t you want to run it as a two year old? ie Run whilst there’s a good or fair chance of victory in a Group 2 or Group 1 – Before 10 or 20 horses improve past her as a three year old.
Value Is EverythingJuly 29, 2017 at 15:50 #1311818Yes, I’m with you ginge
That’s why I don’t like her as a guineas horse though, just a personal choice I like a lightly or at least not a heavily raced horse in the 2 year old season. Also think she’d be better at 6/7f as opposed to a mile. Johnston has said something about the guineas quoted on twitter but if she were mine I wouldn’t be looking at that race.Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026

For the Guineas I personally prefer both Clemmie and Alpha Centauri. However, I wouldn’t put anyone off backing Nyaleti @ 25/1.Value Is EverythingJuly 29, 2017 at 16:13 #1311833Come and get it GT!

If I wasn’t already on Clemmie and Alpha Centauri I would, LS. Think having three ante=post bets on the 1000 at this stage would be asking for trouble. Can’t see 25/1 lasting the day.

July 29, 2017 at 16:48 #1311852Ginge you had 4 earlier in a 7 horse race
Is 25/1 value or not, “value is everything”, yet you are passing….
Do they do odds on the horse coming in last place….?Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026

You wait until punters check Timeform’s rating, LS.
