Cloth of stars out
June 14, 2017 at 11:54 #1304281Haha, great stuff.
He wouldn’t have been dangerous anyway..June 14, 2017 at 12:14 #1304284With if buts and maybes about a lot of the runners and many dropping by the wayside, I think that Queen’s Trust at 20-1 is a big price for the race, her best form is on fast ground over 10F and has proven G1 form that ties in with both Minding and Seventh Heaven – can easily ignore her 1st run of the season as the ground was far too soft.
Will be very interesting to see just who Stoute books for the ride.

It’s a loss for a race that may well end up substandard if others take up alternative targets.
There is no actual injury as such, Fabre has said that the horse simply needs a rest. They must be breeding these horses pretty fragile these days.
That’s the second time Fabre has said the horse was coming over and then hasn’t turned up. The trainer went on to say they will step him back up to 12F. His best form clearly seems to be at 10F. I won’t be backing him for 12F races, his Derby effort still goes down as one of his worst.
Meanwhile it’s a source of amusement for some with zero knowledge and even less manners.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

He wouldn’t have been dangerous anyway..You seem like a bit of a wally, mate.
June 14, 2017 at 13:16 #1304287I would imagine Aiden and the boys would want to send Highland Reel here now as this looks a great chance of having a 10f G1 on his CV.
I’m inclined to think that Gosden would rather run Jack Hobbs in the Hardwick still as the fuss he made about the draw Jack Hobbs got in the champion stakes.
If either don’t show up here then this is one of the weakest Prince of Wales in a long time.
June 14, 2017 at 13:52 #1304289Haha, great stuff.
He wouldn’t have been dangerous anyway..stupid comment really, why wish ill for other posters?
June 14, 2017 at 13:58 #1304291Very disappointing, even more so when the horse isn’t even injured. I really think this was a race there to be won.
Of whats left, there’s nothing particularly inspiring unless Jack Hobbs turns up. Mekhtaal might have an e/w shout at 14/1, but I’ll wait and see how the race cuts up. 12/1 on Decorated Knight could also look overpriced if theres a few more non-runners.
Highland Reel is 10lbs better over 12f in my opinion, so he’s too short for me if he does turn up.
June 14, 2017 at 14:04 #1304293No, I didn’t wish anybody ill.
My complete thoughts were, that every single Favre horse the grandmaster posted here turned out as a catastrophe.
They didn’t show up or disappointed, so why is there no learning process?June 14, 2017 at 16:52 #1304306It’s very annoying that Cloths’ misses the meeting as it definitely takes something away from a race that looks thin of top quality on paper at the moment.
With Deauville being supplemented for the Queen Anne it perhaps seems more likely that Highland Reel will run here. If he doesn’t I can’t see O’Brien having anything else to line up whereas he could send out Idaho and US Army Ranger for the Hardwicke. Like Dex said, it’ll be a good chance to win a 10 furlong Group 1 with the horse.

They didn’t show up or disappointed, so why is there no learning process? But when you know other posters have backed the horse, is laughing at his absence necessary? It’s an if you are also laughing at their misfortune.
I still have absolutely no idea on the race but would likely play Jack Hobbs if he runs here. It looks a substandard renewal.

Okay MoM, to answer your question, if it came across like that it was not necessary.
I can confess that it was just intended as sarcasm to process some disappointment..I am also quite unsure about this race, I just think Jack Hobbs is the classiest horse even if the trip is a bit short. I wouldn’t do anything before Gosden will have decided where to run.

Well of course it’s going to come across like that, how else is “haha great stuff” going to come across other than revelling in others misfortune?
I haven’t had a bet in this race but I feel sorry for those who have backed Cloth of stars, it’s bad enough losing your money without some ejit coming along and rubbing their noses in it.
June 14, 2017 at 22:11 #1304327You don’t know **** pal.
You don’t know what I know, and keep your terrible language to yourself!
Therefor that you are so convinced of yourself, your results are quite a disaster,
or why did you call yourself lately “Anti King Midas”?June 14, 2017 at 22:50 #1304331In my view Steve is one of the best tipsters on here, if not the best.
And he puts up his views for those to be shot down, unlike your great self Hein, who just aftertimes any winners he can find.

Hypocrite or what?
I have multiple 40/1 and 33/1 winning tips on this forum. Also 25/1 winners and other big priced winners. People forget that these winners buy you a couple of hundred other losers and yet still show a profit.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
June 15, 2017 at 00:43 #1304347Evening.
Ive been really busy at work so havent had a chance to catch up on here for ages.
As Judge said earlier in this forum, I was quite keen on COS. Reason being, it didnt and doesnt look a particularly strong race but not only that, his form suggested that he would prefer 10f over 12f. He’d only ever lost once over 10f.
My biggest frustration would have to be that it was only a week ago where Fabre said he would be targetted at this race, only for him to say a week later it wasnt going to happen. I know a lot can change in a week but this one doesnt quite feel right to me.
We all know from recent announcements that HH Sheikh Mohammed calls the Godolphin shots and whilst I think Fabre would have been happy to run, he wants to keep his ‘big guns’ separate and therefore I expect Jack Hobbs to turn up. Wouldnt surprise me at all.
Unfortunately the withdrawal means we have to lick our wounds and carry on. Part and parcel of ante post betting I suppose.
Hein – out of curiosity, if you had to place a bet today, regardless of who was and wasnt confirmed, who would you be backing?
