No shame in finishing a few lengths behind a good ‘un, congrats BigG, thoroughly well deserved
January 1, 2025 at 10:16 #1717232Thanks Moe, but I think we’ve got a while to get the radio channel
sorted for the next Melbourne Cup
January 1, 2025 at 10:22 #1717233That’s very kind of you Green, at 14 all I would have put money
on you, it’s the strangest thing and you would have deserved
this just as much as me.

January 1, 2025 at 19:33 #1717314Congratulations on winning Poster of the Year BigG, well deserved

Also very well done to greenasgrass for such a bold showing. I hope your turn to win comes soon as it would also be totally merited.
And not forgetting all the other nominees who were also very deserving of recognition for their contributions to the site.
January 2, 2025 at 01:07 #1717328Many thanks Marlingford and I couldn’t agree more that greenasgrass, along
with the other nominees without doubt are deserving of recognition for their
contributions to this site. I most certainly had luck on my side on this occassion.January 2, 2025 at 03:35 #1717329“They’ll be dancing 💃 in the streets of kirkaldy tonight”
Probably not, but I’m about to dance around my wee humble abode in Walton Suffolk it won’t be a pretty sight I can tell thee.
But on seeing this news I’m delighted for the man. He has been a friend a confidante, a brother, a father figure and as retired officers in a similar profession colleagues albeit different tribes/mobs.
In my happiest and also deepest darkest hours in 2024,he’s nurtured and helped me in and through these times.
His intelligence, intellect and compassion are there for all to see but I know more of him much more than I’d say and am pleased to be his friend.
This year of years I’ll meet the man, shake his hand and embrace the big Man. It’s long overdue.
I’m sure it’ll be on a Scottish racecourse in the coming flat season. We’ve not discussed this at all but I’m coming mate.
Now for the dance, out of my shed a solo tango a whoop whoop of happiness ( oh my unfortunate neighbours!!) into the main house and the kitchen, that bottle of Italian Red languishing for months on the worktop has a purpose and end use after all. This is that special occasion (and there’ll be many this year) it’s been purposed for. Today is also my closest brother’s birthday (65) I’ll put a ruddy dent in the bottle, retire and wonder why I’ve woken up with a sore head in the morning.
Well done old chap you don’t deserve it,
You’ve earned it.January 2, 2025 at 11:51 #1717335You’re much too kind Sam, but true our friendship was born on these pages, and will
last as long as I draw breath. Your talant for nature and the earth are reflected
in the brilliant poetry you write. But, as you say, there’s so much more.I wish you the happiest 2025, things are going well and I reckon 2025 will be a
breakthrough year for you. It couldn’t happen to a nicer bloke.PS Remember, dancing round your back, things don’t always look their best
when it’s bloody freezing
January 3, 2025 at 16:47 #1717402“Many thanks Ginger and Moe. Shocked doesn’t come close, but I’ll take it :good:”
You shouldn’t be, Graham.
I always back winners.
