Cracking field at this stage…..
https://www.racingpost.com/racecards/187/leopardstown/2020-09-12/765930
….though I’m probably grateful that there’s no Antepost Market yet.
A few obviously catching the eye….
Princess Zoe – Very raised profile after an excellent summer, and she looks good enough to be competitive here. Cesarewitch bound after this, if it all goes to plan, and she should be bang there.
Buildmeupbuttercup – Very comfortable winner last time out, over hurdles, and though maybe doesn’t win as often as you’d like, very hard to be too negative about.
Monument Valley – I had him as a dark one for The St Leger, but as nice as he is, he’s not quite that standard. Back in this company, he’s a serious player.
Great White Shark – Impressive winner at Galway last time, and nothing wrong with her run earlier in the week at that meeting. Could do with some rain, but off of 86, I give her a live chance. I like her for The Cesarewitch, so I’ll be watching closely.
Jon Ess – I bet him earlier in the year, and he was awful, but he’s been more like it lately. Relatively low profile, but I think he’s a dark one here.
Winner Takes Itall – Really like him, and I’m happy to put a line through his last run, and put it down to the all weather at Dundalk. I’m very interested in him for the winter, but he looks capable of taking this en route.
War Diary – Not the most obvious, but has caught my eye a few times, and chance if on a going day.
Melburnian – Think they’ve been mucking about with him this year, and this race looks ideal for him. Marked him down last year, as one to follow, and not fooled by his runs this year. Type of race the trainer really targets, and my idea of the winner right now. Should sneak in.
Flying Scotsman – An obvious player on Galway runs, and a massive danger to all if he gets in.
Tudor City – One for the big occasion, and he looked as if he was coming into form nicely the last time. Can easily see him there at the business end.
The Mouse Doctor – Surely won’t get in, but big player if he does.
I’ll wait and see the prices, but for now, my idea of the winner…..
Melburnian
September 9, 2020 at 13:40 #1500463Well Princess Zoe definitely not going, which always seemed likely.
Just the one less to worry about.
September 10, 2020 at 11:57 #1500597Ah this is tough. Never Said Nothing? That will do, these races sometimes don’t go the way of the big guns, and the big guns are dominating this one. I fancy I might get a biggish price.
September 10, 2020 at 17:22 #1500649You certainly will Spoon, opening at 25’s.
I’ll watch the market with Jon Ess. He’s probably my #1 for this now, and hoping to beat 33’s.
Winner Takes Itall will be the backup.
Jon Ess EW

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!September 10, 2020 at 22:04 #1500680I’m surprised he opened as big as 25’s Jack, especially with Keane up.
September 11, 2020 at 15:30 #1500844Jack, Ted getting backed in case you haven’t bet yet.
September 11, 2020 at 15:35 #1500849Missed the 25s Bobby, got 20s with Coral though so i’ll take it anyway. Keane just rode a double and his ride on Blackpoint there was great so hopefully he does it all again tomorrow!

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!September 11, 2020 at 15:41 #1500854Ah, glad you nabbed some 20’s Jack, thought it worth the heads up, as I may be in the minority in watching the market for this.
September 11, 2020 at 15:51 #1500859Yeah, the other i like is one you’ve said- Joey’s + Jps!

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!September 11, 2020 at 17:44 #1500882Good luck with him Jack. I’ll follow you here with Powerful Ted, but the best I can get is 16-1
September 12, 2020 at 10:54 #1500977I’ve went with 2 Win bets here, Grandmaster Flash 8-1, and Monument Valley 12-1
September 12, 2020 at 14:55 #1501036Not the winner but a decent e/w return. Strange enough race i thought with a few never getting into it like Winner Takes Itall.
Powerful Ted ran decent without ever to me looking the winner.

I topped up Jon Ess to 9 Places with 365, thought I had it, but swamped at the end FFS
September 12, 2020 at 16:39 #1501112It was an ew Venture, I should have said.
Well done Jack with that nice 20-1
