I’ve been watching out for this since 4th in a 1 mile 6 event at Goodwood in April. Reappeared rallying late home through beaten horses again for 4th in the Pitmans Derby last Saturday a copy cat ending to its Goodwood run, the winner of the Goodwood race Investissement was was way back in 18th. I had Petara to win unfortunatley in the Plate and didnt go EW.
He was never going to bother either winner but this horse will win an extended distance race somewhere but is running out of the right races.
I’d be gutted to miss its winning run, any ideas where it might have future entries.
Goodwood Cup?
June 30, 2011 at 12:18 #362941He’s likely to run in a handicap at the Glorious Goodwood meeting. Probably that one on the first day over 1 3/4m. His long term aim is the Cesarewitch which looks a sensible target.
June 30, 2011 at 12:54 #362959Mmmmm…. I might go ante post for the Cesarewitch and look out for it at Glorious. Needs a distance.
Thanks for the heads up most helpful
June 30, 2011 at 14:46 #362975Whilst I was looking at previous races for horses running last Saturday, I heard the tail end of a comment from Lydia saying that Petara Bay’s last race was a better performance than it looked on paper in that he had a troubled run. Although I didn’t back it for the Pitmens Derby I did write his name on a scrap of paper floating around on my desk as one to watch out for. Annoyed that I didn’t take the big price on offer last weekend.Think he’s only recently started contesting handicaps?
July 30, 2011 at 20:49 #366604I’ve been accused of being of something of an after time boaster by a nunber of people on here notably those whose names advertise themselves as monarchs of ante post betting.
Ahem!
July 31, 2011 at 23:01 #366741Were you on yesterday? Having a sabbatical from betting at the moment but keep missing horses I’ve been following.
August 1, 2011 at 09:44 #366770good call.
This is a class horse, had its training problems. With a little bit of give can improve still. The stable is returning to some form too. Cesarwitch could be interesting.August 2, 2011 at 12:31 #366894You know I didnt make that much. I thought this was still a little to short for it tbh at 1 mile 6 to pile on
I’m not a big gambler Had a fiver on it at 14/1 and another fiver on doubling it with Snow Fairy that I thought wrongly would see out that gamble. However Dettori made good viewing until the last 100 yards when Midday pulled away.
Tempered a lot by the incident 4 furlongs out. Condolences to connections of the horse and I hope Ryan Moore enjoys his enforced break and comes back just as strong
