Won’t Sporting John get penalised/have to carry nore weight for winning yesterday? I thought the idea was not to show your hand to the handicapper in these qualifying races.

It is my favourite too, VTC. It has been lucky for me over the years.

Like you, I will not be able to resist getting involved on the day but happy with the McManus pair for now.

I think SDB will run here. Elliott must know the horse is not good enough for the Stayers but he was good enough to win this race under top weight in 2020, after an eye catching run in the Warwick race. I am sure Elliott will have him spot on when it matters.

I’ve went with Dunboyne in this at 11-1. I just thought that he might be hiding in plain sight.

Think I can safely write off Mr Fred Rogers and Dufflecoat now. No harm with Dufflecoat, but lost a few quid on Mr Fred Rogers, though as I said, it was a proper Antepost punt, with no guarantee he’d be entered. Put more his way for Martin Pipe though.

Left with Dallas Des Pictons and Sire Du Berlais now, and got a big decision before the weekend.

Born Patriot was my first big fancy on the thread, he’s already qualified, and out at Sandown Saturday. Itching to bet him here, but just can’t right now.

Weekend also sees The Big Galloper entered, and although not shown much so far, he’s also not been knocked about too much either. Think I’ll try and get that Fred Rogers money back by betting him for the qualifier.

One of my bigger betting races of the week, and at the moment two to add from the shortlist, but have to be careful, as that Mr Fred Rogers bet took a slice of the stakes away.

    Shortlist
    Born Patriot
    De Name Escapes Me
    Flight Deck
    Kansas City Chief
    The Big Galloper

    Sire Du Berlais 20’s
The Big Galloper 22’s EW 5pls NRNB

Really happy with The Big Galloper there, he had tons left, though he’ll still struggle to get in I reckon. Dallas Des Pictons cashed out meantime. Every intention to bet him on the day, but I really wanted The Big Galloper onside, and thought he had more potential to shorten.

Six in the qualifier at Exeter today so if they stay up everyone’s a winner baby. I assume the fav today is the fav as she needs to go up a few pounds to get in, so will be trying to win.

Dame De Compagnie is a very interesting contender here, but this is another who has other entries, so I shall wait, but she is one that I really like

I’m not as brave as some of you professionals on here with real Antepost bets. Just getting going with the NRNB picks.

    Shouts for this one:

    Born Patriot 20s
    Mars Harper 16s
    Small Present 33s

I think Honest Vic in interesting at 33/1 NRNB. Back over hurdles, decent mark, a real stayer and good Cheltenham form.

The chatter is that Sire Du Berlais will have a 7lb claimer up in this so going below its last winning mark in this 2 years ago. Would be dangerous if this is true

Kansas City Chief off at Plumpton today (Monday). Does that mean he’s out of this one?

At one point this was shaping up to be carnage for me, but the NRNB saved me on The Big Galloper, while Remastered getting balloted out, also helped.

Having cashed out on Dallas Des Pictons at 25’s, happy to add again at 33’s, and my first named for this, Born Patriot, is a straightforward choice.

I’ll no doubt add a sentimental couple of quid on old Kansas City, but he’s hard to put forward as a serious fancy, though he could easily nick a place.

    Born Patriot 20’s
    Dallas Des Pictons 33’s
    Sire Du Berlais 20’s

Always look forward to this race.

Took the 20/1 against Sire Du Berlais after his Warwick run so hope that it is a repeat of the 2020 outcome.

Winter Fog and Dunboyne have obvious claims.

I have taken 12/1 against Sassy Yet Classy.

Also backed Mill Green at 33/1. He has run well in the last two Martin Pipes and is worth changing up in distance.

Sassy Yet Classy and Third Wind.
Plus, couldnt resist an e/w 1st 8 places, on a fav of mine, Kansas City Chief – loves Cheltenham but many here are better on paper. My niece rides out at Mulholland’s so hoping KCC can grab a place :good:

Not betting today but The Jam Man would be my tip at 22/1.

I’m quite strong on alaphilipe here. Probably foolishly given the British record in it.
