It looked horrible and the Racing Post didn’t mention this with a single word as far as I know. He stumbled into another horse and fell afterwards. The very next horse kicked him in the head and crushed his skull which killed him instantly. That is the reason why he lay motionless on the side with one leg up in the air.
The very shrewd Mullins crew should consider themselves very lucky to have taken home Thousand Stars who trailed in last. Not only that the course is simply unsuitable for many horses, but how do you get a horse from Ireland to Merano anyway?
Can you fly it straight away to Merano? As far as I know you would have to get to Milano first and then take the journey by car. Anyway not the ideal course to approach, especially not from Ireland.
The two days surely weren’t that much fun, but as I’ve said happily they took back one horse healthy and sound.
