7-runner all-weather handicap? Pity not to have the 10-runner handicap chase on the telly at Sandown to get stuck into? At least we know who Benetar, Gardefort, Doitforthevillage etc all are!

No idea who these a/w horses are, so I go

Win – no 1 Count Otto
    E/W – no 2 Kondratiev Wave
Backup – no 3 Bowling Russian

Hi everyone with WETHERBY abandoned LINGFIELD took centre stage this weekend. Was reading some valid points of view from you guys during my breaks yesterday and before doing the scores would like to respond.

QUELLE FARCE: 7-runner all-weather handicap? Pity not to have the 10-runner handicap chase on the telly at Sandown to get stuck into? At least we know who Benetar, Gardefort, Doitforthevillage etc all are!

Yes, my thoughts when setting up the LINGFIELD race, however when setting up the comp, All Weather racing looks more likely to take place from a few days out than turf racing, and SANDOWN did survive an inspection itself. The was bigger fields if you’re prepared to do selling handicaps but I do have my limits.

Thanks for participating, especially like me you’re a National Hunt Nut. :good:

TRIPTYCH It might be a small field but an interesting little Handicap…

Yes Jac, you were right. I usually bet on my selections to give me an interest on the race. However I thought this one wasn’t worth the bother. A 40/1 winner proved me wrong. Well done anyone (and the was a few) who picked that, and double well done if it had money on. :good: :good:

GREENASGRASS PS Ireland exists! We have good handicaps too!

That’s right Green, and some races look a better betting opposition to those in the UK. Large field and good quality races. Did an Irish Race last comp, might use Irish race if I’m stuck this side of the Irish Sea. If people are Okay with that.

Don’t worry if I put a MW besides your score, this has no effect on your score it’s just a way for me to keep track of who’s taken part. MW stands for Missing Week

In my case MW stands for missing winners Neil

Green has a good point about Irish Handicaps :good: would love to see 1 or 2 included.

Well done to Graham (BigG) and all with Diligent Lady EW this week the second 40/1 shot to win your Handicap contest Neil. :good:

Was thinking about Easter Week, between Lincoln & National (assuming that they take place), of including the Irish National which is Easter Monday, instead of whatever the best option of Saturday 3rd April. Did something similar last comp by including the Welsh National (original date 26th December, Sunday). My view is that these are huge events in the racing calendar that they prove to be exceptions to the Saturday handicaps. Plus Christmas and Easter the racing (IE Handicaps only) is usually of poor standards other than these exceptions.

Thanks for running this competition Neil. I would add my yes vote to include some of the top handicaps in Ireland in this contest. They are usually very competitive races and would certainly add some excitement on quieter weekends in England. We all like the challenge of trying to find a winner in a big handicap race.
