If there are any long term members still reading SYSTEMS can I please ask your help.
Back in the summer of ’93 Robotica posted a system titled "One-A-Day" which he claimed to have been using for 10 years.
There is a lot of archive material, I think about 45 pages of it but Robotica was reluctant to post the rules but said he would providing they remained "up" for only 4 days.
Sadly Matron cannot remember the rules and so I ask is there any member who can recall just what they are.

July 12, 2010 at 10:40 #306055I’m pretty sure that it was just the lowest priced favourite of the day.

WON 3/10
Lowest Forecast fav in both my daily papers.
A quick run through Odds Checker agreed. Best price 1/2 but the Billion £ is down at 4/9
Always pleased to try something new (well perhaps not all that new) so I shall see if I can get a rolling double or two.

July 12, 2010 at 19:13 #306104It just HAS to be done

When I read the original thread it not only did very well but also run up a few winning sequences and so for the sake of one pound we shall see how many rolling doubles (maybe trebles) etc. can be found, providing I have the nerve which is in grave doubt.
Suggestions about when to protect stake or winnings will be welcome.
My thoughts are: –
Roll up first win to a double.
Then either cash in – roll up winnings to treble or take out first stake and roll up winnings only.
After treble (if so lucky) perhaps split total into halves risking only 50%
Oh hell I don’t know it’s only a bit of fun anyway and you can all join in and do your own thing.

July 12, 2010 at 20:59 #306117It’s a bit like Deal or no deal, Billion. Hope you don’t end up with the 1p.

What am I going to do with you? Now you don’t want me to call for
Matron
do you?
Perhaps all the fun has gone from your life, I certainly hope not.
Positive thinking that is all that is needed.
Worse case scenario and I end up with a penny, well, I have only lost 99p and all for a little fun.

They ALL call us "Grumpy" the trouble is they just don’t know how good they have got it

And they soon change their tune like Mrs B did last week after I had a little win and she wanted a day out etc. etc. etc.

And, sucker here took her out and she spent the lot

, although I had notice of its despatch Postman Pat is very unreliable these days.
Do you fancy a game of, I remember when . . . .
Back in the day (as they say these days, another Americanism I guess) when there were two postal deliveries every day, the first was before or around breakfast time when you got the bills which put you in a bad mood just as you set off for work.
Some time after mid morning there was a second delivery.
Ho-hum, nowadays it can be anytime after 10.00 am, we got ours the other day at 4.15 pm.
Believe this or not, we had a real good postman, super young guy who was full of energy, he would do his round in a VW Golf GTI (can you believe that – no bike for him), he would park up and run the round and was always finished early. Then he was moved to a different round, much bigger and harder with plenty of leaflets and this was because there were complaints from his superiors saying he was going home too early.
My dear old dad was a postie out of the Ilford sorting office, he was given a proper postmans uniform with one of those shiney plastic peaks and red piping around the jacket collar etc. Have you seen the scruffy sods today on their bikes with their shirts out of their trousers and in shorts during the winter time.
I really am a grumpy old man

Don’t get me started on dustman as we used to call them, they would go round the back of your house to get the tin dustbin, non of this plastic bag malarky from outside of your house and that is if you are lucky.
Proper sports days for the kiddies is another that gets my goat. Have you seen what they call and passes for Sports Day in this day and age? No it is impossible to describe one of the so called races my grandaughter was in but I will try, throwing paper darts along the running lanes, imagine the chaos as the wind took the things all over the place, stupidity at the highest level.
Talking of schools, well have you seen all the "Chelsea Tractors" at school times, congesting the local roads at 9.00 and 3.00 in the afternoon. Un ber(bloody)believable, no wonder the mums and kids all weigh about 2 tons each.
When I was a kid, I had a toy Tommy Gun but I never killed anyone (apart from the odd German and Gene Autry plus the occassional postie). These days, oh no, must not have guns to play with it sets the wrong standards but I can’t walk down the road without body armour and stab vest because of all these kids who could not have a six gun and cowboy hat.
The good old days hey, when we made scooters out of a couple of wood planks and two ball bearing wheels, blimey remember them.
Put the coats down for goal posts and a full game of football with a tin can and drive everyone made who lived in the street with all the noise from the can.
I can go on and on but then I really might become a grumpy old man.
No, I can’t pass any comment about the book and will not put the stab vest back on until the end of next week but as they say will keep you posted (but not by Royal Mail).

Almost had two selections today but having decided NOT to bet any meetings where the ground conditions make any mention of soft in the going, Cartmel was therefore avoided.
Following yesterdays win todays selection runs with the burden of being the second part of the double with stakes of £1.40
