    Since Long Run’s Gold Cup win, there’s a feeling that we’ve come to the end of an era and the start of a new one.

    What I’d love to know, though, is how many Group One winners have been 11 or older? I know Moscow Flyer won the Champion Chase at 11, and back in the ’60s What A Myth won the Gold Cup when he was 12, but have there been any others?

    I’ll give you Sea Pigeon – won the 1981 Champion Hurdle aged 11.

    Also, Crimson Embers won the Stayers’ Hurdle as an 11-year-old. Not sure it was a Grade One though.
