Bet the Goldie yard fairly regularly, and not for the first time, siding with stable stalwart Euchen Glen. Seems to be in fairly good heart despite his advancing years, and I still think they’d like another swing at The Ebor. He’d be pushing it to get in this year, so probably needs a big run here. Was going to wait till the day, but I like the 20’s.

Stablemate Geremia is a bit of a frustrating one, but I’m sure he’s got a decent race in him. Can be slowly away, but claimer William Pyle is booked, and if he does blow the start, a repeat of his patient ride on Sir Chauvelin would do the trick. I’ll bet him EW at weekend unless I see support.

Alright Sunshine, Aramaic, and Onesmoothoperator also interesting.

Four-year-olds haven’t had a great record in this in recent years, but their overall record since 3yos became ineligible to run in it is sound.

La Yakel heads the market, but was taken out at York because of the ground, so I’m guessing he needs give.

The latest going stick reading offers him hope, but the ground might dry out if the CoC leaves the taps alone – the usual as yet unknown.

Teumessia’s Fox was a bitter disappointment at Royal Ascot, but had hitherto looked progressive in victories at Kempton Park and Newmarket.

I regard the booking of crack 3lb claimer Harry Davies as a positive and he too will be on my short list if declared tomorrow.

19 declared – Geremia not among them, so it was a smart move to wait.

Backed Tuemessias Fox at 11/1. That looks like a bit of an over-reaction to one poor run at a track some horses do not like. I thought he looked like a Group performer after he won at Newmarket.

Going to have little each way interest Howth , running into form , dropping some rating points and first try at trip may suit .

    Euchen Glen ew @ 20’s

I backed him a few times the last couple of years but never quite caught him considering the races he won at a big price. I was gutted last year at Goodwood where he was very very unlucky, he should of won that race, so still capable on a going day.

Toshizou has ran well to be placed a few times and has been given far too much to do in some others. Too big a jump up in trip surely so going to leave him alone. Probably bolt up you watch.

Solely on the basis the winner has come from stall 2 three times in the last ten years, Scampi.

My ‘chips’ are down on Scampi (i’ll get my coat  ).
    I could’ve picked 6 or 7 in this race if i’m honest.
Also chucked Scampi in an e/w double with Rathgar in the 2.05.

Best of luck to all today :good:

Hoping that rain does come in time to make some impact for Cumulonimbus. He did win on fast ground last time but in a better race I think he could do without it. Form looks good though. I’ve put him in with Sheer Rocks as a saver.

With old Euchen Glen , eye catching first run of the season and Jims in good form , expect a good run from the Dalgliesh horse with it being his last runner

Won by a reserve. If you are on the runner up, check with your bookmaker. Some settle bets without the reserve if you placed your bet before the reserve was a confirmed runner.

There ought to be a standard set of rules across the industry but there is not.
