Took 10s 5 mins before the Ribblesdale on Frankly Darling just to try and take Love on with something and I’m firmly in her camp here, I think she could be very very good. She was so strong at the finish at Ascot, despite pulling away at the beginning that she could have won my miles under a strongly run finish.

I like Love, but what she beat at Newmarket looks very average and they’ve done not a lot since to disprove that.

Cracking match up though. Rest of the lineup…….not so much…

Well done taking the 10s Frenchy, that’s terrific looking value. I was impressed with Love
with her win in the Moyglare, it showed how tough she was. Even her subsequent 3rd in the
Fillies Mile was a good run, but I thought her running the Guineas showed she had trained on
well. She’s going to be a tough nut to crack but I have to say that Frankly Darling has
impressed me more than anything this year, I think she could turn out to be a star. I don’t
have any fancy prices, I missed that boat, but I’ve got her at 9/4 and doubled up with Vatican
City at 9s, although I’ve backed him already at 16s.

    Frenchy
Respect your opinion of Frankly Darling and if she wins on Saturday I will be really happy for her, she’s a lovely talented filly and 10/1 great steal before her win. However surely it is herself that has not really beaten that much albeit in fine fashion.

Love has much more experience and wouldn’t really call the horses she beat average.
Daahyeh, Quadrilateral, UAE 1000 Guineas winner Final Song, Oh So Sharp (Gp.3)winner Rose Of Kildare and Cheveley Park Stakes winner Millisle along with improving filly Cloak Of Spirits. Love has also beaten Alpine Star on Good/Firm.

Peaceful was probably chosen to go to the Prix Diane as she has the best chance of beating Alpine Star who would want soft ground and as much as my heart wants to side with Frankly Darling my head says Love will win The Oaks on Saturday.
Can’t wait for this race, The Derby much harder and not so interesting this year.

Yep that’s a fair point she hasn’t beaten anything but obviously Love has had the chance to beat horses whereas FD hasn’t. I just like the edge when a horse isn’t that fancied, she was 22/1 about 2 weeks before the 1k and suddenly she beats average horses there (Id still say) and now we are talking about her being an evens shot dual Guineas – Oaks horse. Just not that convinced and I do like her I backed her in the 1k. Would I go in at 2/1 on FD had I not done the antipost? Hmm actually probably yes but I would’ve done also the reverse forecast and maybe even reverse tricast with Ennisymon as well to try and boost it up a bit

I think Love has the shape of a very good horse, I just think FD has the shape of potentially a Very very good horse!

I like progressive horses also Frenchy and as you say Love has had the chance to run against top fillies so decided that having lost my AP bet on Peaceful I’m just going to watch the race on Saturday she’s too short a price now. I will be cheering FD on for you Frenchy and watching Love with a lot of interest.
I’m just waiting for Peaceful to scoot home in the Prix Diane on Sunday and Ghaiyyath to win the Coral Eclipse that will really make my day. Jac

I would certainly think FD could put it up to Love but possibly conditions may not suit on Saturday. She is certainly a fair old size and her action screams softer ground and maybe a flatter could be better for her than Epsom. Quite fancy Emmistyon who finished second to her to finish in front on this occasion if it stays dry.

The ground is currently good, good to soft in places. Good by the afternoon races probable, with it being dry tomorrow and just some light rain Saturday morning. Not really fast or really slow. So no excuses really. :good:

Normally people would complain about extremely short odds (I hate the word prices :-( ), so what’s going on here?
Every punter with a quite normal brain would have to hate “Love’s” odds, especially for what she has achieved so far.. So what’s all this bull about  ?
Still a very interesting race imo, but more from the sporty side :bye:

I agree with frenchy in that I don’t think the Guineas form stacks up as a lot of them didn’t stay that were fancied or didn’t run their races. She’s won well, but hasn’t beat much there. The one thing about love is I thought she was more an oaks filly than a 1000g filly anyway! In saying that I won’t be backing her. Still haven’t quite made my mind up- tempted to take FD or aidans second filly but haven’t quite made my mind up yet

Well, she is a Guineas winner Hein in fairness in a field of this type of quality, she’s entitled to be very short. But that’s irrelevant as you win the post of the week award for saying you have to hate love! :rose:

Thank you Frenchy, as I don’t win too many awards :-)
But indeed I only meant her odds

I said after the race at ascot ennistymon would reverse the form form with FD and Im standing by that

Dont like love for this, as with always ill never discount a galileo getting the trip, guineas form has taken a good few knocks and at the price i can avoid

How will ennistymon reverse form with frankly darling? Got blasted by a horse who was taking a pull early on. I Think FD ends up fav in this, that’s my selection

I’ve had an ew go at 40s on Queen Daenerys who had a decent reappearance run behind Run Wild – the latter didn’t give her true running at Royal Ascot I don’t think.
