Great run from Phil’s ‘Rayna’s World’ to finish 3rd in the mares novice. Annoyingly I’ve realised that backing using ‘bet boost, you don’t get best odds guaranteed, so I bet at 50’s and she won at 100 [had gone out to 200 at times]. Good luck tomorrow. I’m having a stinker of a week!
March 13, 2020 at 01:09 #1485883I’ve never used a Bet Boost before Moe, but I wouldn’t have known that.
Nice call all the same with Rayna’s World.
Yeah, tough going this week.
I’ve been lucky this year. I was basically guaranteed a profit this week, thanks to my Champagne Classic lay, and I was happy after The Pertemps, but so far off the pace after that. Normal service with The Plate, I really should just leave it alone, but I was hacked off with The Kim Muir.
Hopefully we can get a few on the board today.
March 14, 2020 at 18:08 #1486198Did really well in the last race at the festival; backed the winner at 40/1 but no idea why. I can only assume it’s because I decided to pick out the best conditionals and Rex Dingle stood out. Then lost it all today; Garo de Juilley [tipped on racing radio at 33/1] and Eamon na whatever who was on the ‘last winning mark’ list. Good to see Rebecca Cooper doing well, though. Remember when Paul Townend used to come over from Ireland to ride for her? I reckon he gained a lot of experience of English tracks by doing that.

Yeah, pleased to see her get the winner Moe, though I wish it been another female trainer in Deborah Hamer that got it. I’d forgot Townend used to ride for her, now you mention it, I’m sure he was up on Irish Cavalier.
Last race was good to me as well Moe. Difficult day, but Great White Shark fair dug me out a hole.
I’ll do a proper round up of the week once I can summon up the strength.
March 14, 2020 at 21:28 #1486216…I meant Curtis….[duuuh]….I also remember that she used to do well at Punchestown, which was unusual for British trainers. There was one lady British trainer that had a winner at Punchestown @ 14 years ago but I can’t remember who it was [we were in Ireland at the time but travelling around]. Townend did ride Irish Cavalier; she campaigned that horse in Ireland several times.
