July 20, 2015 at 10:52 #1139624Darren, got the entries for The Galway Plate, and I’m spoilt for choice.
Looking forward to seeing the weights, though the ones that jumps off the page to me at the moment, are the likes of Art of Logistics, Brave Spartacus (if he doesn’t get hammered after Saturday), and especially Shanpallas, he’d be my #1 fancy at the moment at 16’s.
July 20, 2015 at 21:35 #1139946Just goes to show how many people know when a horse is going to win. We’ve been keeping an eye on Aiden Coleman riding for John Feguson but L’Orfeos price today showed that we’re not the only ones and the prices are too short. Noticed that a lot of Middleham trainers use Grahan Lee when they mean business, although with some eg Ann Duffield and Micky Hammond they seem to use him anyway. Out of interest, do some jockeys charge more than others? Or is it that the horses are winning because they have a better jockey on board?
July 21, 2015 at 12:48 #1140208Not got any thoughts on races at Galway but like. The Game Changer and Ted Veale in both races
July 21, 2015 at 15:06 #1140237I like The Game Changer as well Darren, but he always seems to find a few too good on the big stage, but he might end up second or third choice for me. At the moment, I really like Macnicholson, and Hisaabat.
July 22, 2015 at 12:03 #1140759bob any thoughts on ebor i put thread up there now along with Galway races to.
And big handicaps at Ascot and York this week any early thoughts
July 23, 2015 at 15:39 #1141341Good man Darren, saves me starting a Plate thread, I’ll still put up my thoughts on it over the weekend.
Really like the look of those 2 Handicaps at the weekend. In the International Stakes, I like Unforgiving Minute @ 20’s, and I might have smaller ew interest on Belgian Bill, and considering Lincoln too. Pretty sure I’ll have that Trifecta.
In The Skybet Dash, I’m happy to take risk on Gran Canaria Queen @ 16’s, and Adam’s Ale looks big @ 22’s. Possibly add See The Sun to the list too.
Really struggling to single one out for The Ebor, and definitely going to wait till the day. At a push, the old boy Oriental Fox, or Wicklow Brave, but a “wait and see” job at the moment.
July 23, 2015 at 16:16 #1141357Elidor and Dashing Star for me at the moment. When are the weights out?
July 27, 2015 at 17:11 #1146029Outside of Aintree, Cheltenham, and Royal Ascot, it’s the best weeks racing of the year for me, with Glorious Goodwood, and Galway, to enjoy, so no doubt be a right few quid wasted by close of play on Saturday
Here goes

August 11, 2015 at 13:48 #1170346bob any golf bets this thread is up at general sports
Any thoughts on ripon handicap at weekend like Fahey horse right touch got no run last time it did a decent draw it go well.
Any thoughts on hungerford to.
August 15, 2015 at 10:03 #1171393Sorry for the late reply Darren.
I think I’d said before, it’s only The Open I bet on really, not too much intetest in other tournaments. Good luck with your bets though.
I’m giving slight preference to Barnet Fair at Ripon, though might still get involved with Another Wise Kid, Mass Rally, or Poyle Vinnie as well. Bit of a shame the race has cut up.
In The Hungerford, I’ll definitely be siding with Coulsty, and I’ll also have a go on That Is The Spirit.
Hopefully we can get a winner or 2 this weekend, best of luck.
August 19, 2015 at 12:47 #1174583Got to mention a couple today. An old favourite and a new kid on the block. Singeur is a whopping 40’s with five places available, while Heartbreak City is a mad looking price at 22’s with four places.
I know Singeur well, and I can’t have him out the five, while I’ve been watching Heartbreak City for a while, and today might just be the day. Both too big.

August 19, 2015 at 15:34 #1174810Would like to have had an ew on Arabian Queen at 100/1 [too late now].
..posted that somewhere else just before the Juddmonte….have been bust researching family history so came to the race late and fancied her to place [and shouldn’t have been that price].I know you know that I don’t aftertimes [or lie about it] but I needed someone to feel my pain…August 20, 2015 at 09:25 #1176549Aaaaww unlucky Moe, and having been in similar positions, I feel your pain. Yeah, aftertiming is forbidden on this thread……….except from me haha
It’s not the type of race I bet on, but I’m not surprised you fancied her. I know loads of people (well half a dozen maybe) who had money on her, no question she was overpriced. I said that there’s no way I’d have sided with Golden Horn, who didn’t look the greatest Derby winner of all time. I put Arabian Queen up as a danger, along with The Grey Gatsby, both at decent prices, but glad I didn’t put my money where my mouth is…………as I’d probably have went for Time Test in the end.
I was at York last week, and had a great time, but my timing couldn’t have been worse…….a week early I’ll make up for it in October, when I go down for their 2 day meeting then. Hope you’re there for the whole week, and nab a good few winners.
I had an unreal day yesterday, thanks to Singeur grabbing 5th in the opener, made up for the main bet Huntsmans Close flopping big time, and absolutely delighted with Heartbreak City. I think he’s a very exciting horse.
Fancy a few today, and definitely going to have a bet in the 1355, and 1505 at the very least.
Good luck Moe
August 22, 2015 at 15:02 #1180579….I had far too many bets in the Ebor in the end, but did back Litigant and Toe the line so it slightly eases the pain of Arabian Queen. He had been such a good horse but it seemed impossible for him to win after such a lay off but his price was too good to ignore.
August 23, 2015 at 10:03 #1181289Well done Moe, with Ligitant, what a price as well. I ended up with small bets on Watersmeet, and Fields of Athenry, so no joy. Had ante-post bet on Wicklow Brave at decent odds, so at least got a few quid back from him.
The Ebor meeting is one I don’t bet too much on, which is probably a good thing, as I got most races well wrong. Fadhayyil was my only winner, but also very happy with my ew bets on Singeur, and especially Ferryover, who was a decent return. Low point was definitely Chill The Kite winning without any money on him………decided at the last moment to leave him out, and just stuck with old Penitent
August 23, 2015 at 12:47 #1181423Ouch! George Baker is our favourite jockey at the moment so we wince every time he gets a winner. Auld Fyffee, the horse we went to see run at Uttoxeter actually came second at 25/1 last week; we’d backed her at 33/1 and she’d been carried out that day when sure to place, so missing her this time hurt a bit. Wicklow Brave is becoming a favourite of mine, with his pawing the ground antics at York; think he’s a bit of a lovable rogue.
