November 7, 2008 at 08:07 #188519Thanks beckster it’s great to see the horses in such good hands.Poor old One Sniff seems to have had some problems. I hope he’s ok now. He seems to have come through the worst of it all, running twice last season before going on a break for the summer. He looks very promising I hope he stays sound and enjoys his racing.
Grizebec is new to me? I really didn’t know you had him. I had a quick look at his form, he seems to have found a new lease of life since late February this year. I wonder what Roger Fisher did with him to transform him? He’s in even better hands now,so hopefully that improvement will continue. He looks a very exciting prospect. I shall look out for them both.
Great to see the Hales/Richards connection still going strong, no one will ever forget, the combination of, Nicky’s dad, Gordon Richards and John Hales with One Man.
I’ve yet to see a Richards horse turned out poorly, thay all look a picture in the parade ring.I hope they both go well and especially One Sniff.
November 7, 2008 at 13:52 #188547yea poor sniff hes not had great start, but he is a tough cookie.. and i really hope he does well this time he deserves it so fingers crossed think he may run banger but may av got the wrong way round lol
November 13, 2008 at 05:48 #189516I was impressed with Grizebec.I saw the race on the tv. He looked a handsome sort, and looked like he would be a future chaser. He lead most of the way and when he was headed about 2 out by the favourite Latanier, with Tony McCoy aboard, he fought hard and stayed on well to win. He looks like he’s going to improve and he should be able to defy a penalty, the stable have picked up form recently and Grizebec was given a good ride by new stable jockey Davy Condon. I liked both Gizebec and his performance a lot.
I’msingingtheblues ran well. He looked like winning until he got a bit tight to the last. I was hoping he’d get the double up for the family. But he went down to a very good horse in Briareus. The ground was on the soft side for him and he was taking on more experienced opposition here.
I hope One Sniff’s ok. He didn’t run. I hope that’s due to a change of plan and he’s not having any problems.
November 13, 2008 at 12:54 #189522hi yea i missed both races as we had the vet at home, they thought groud was to soft for him b4 they left to the races, maybe chelt on sun would have been better but obviously its also 12months since granitjacks fatalitythere…they were extreamley impressed with grizebec 1st outing so he looks promicing so fingers crossed, no sniff if fine and well, just decided not to run him on tue or some reason i presume the ground? find out 2day and aso that hopefully blue n grize got home and et up safely . thanx david x
November 14, 2008 at 05:39 #189672Hi and thanks beckster.I hope the vet was just a routine visit.

It’s always difficult to guess the state of the ground. But if it had been a bit better he would probably have won. But he lost nothing in defeat and he remains a great prospect. I still remember poor Granite Jack. A magnificent grey, such a sad loss, a very depressing day that one. I would well imagine no one wanting to run the horses at Cheltenham this week with his sad demise still all too fresh in the memory. It might not be a bad thing really because the ground looks like riding on the soft side of good at Cheltenham, though maybe not so tacky as at Kempton. Still I was pleased to see "Blue" run well and out there enjoying himself. Good to hear he’s home, hosed and eating up well.
I’m glad Grizebec really impressed everyone, he certainly impressed me. He looked the business and he performed as well as he looked. It would be great to see him build on that run, with the promise he’s shown on the flat, on his last few outings, he should improve again and make into a very decent sort.Nicky Richards is hitting form now and I’m sure his expertise will coax out some more improvement again.
Even better to hear Sniff’s ok. I was a tad worried, what with his previous injuries, but as long as he’s sound that’s the main thing. I would think your right they’ll be waiting for the ground.
Thanks again, horses can run well but get back home sick or pick up an injury, it’s always good to hear that they’ve got back safe and sound and have eaten up.
