“But what can they do?”
Have no betting on the races in future. Then they can be as bent as they want.
September 25, 2023 at 10:17 #1664457He didn’t just drop his hands , he yanked the horse back . They knew it was a race for betting purposes , the result is as normal in RP , he cannot get away with that surely . They must be embarrassed to show faces on course again .
September 25, 2023 at 10:18 #1664458Worth reminding ourselves of the meaning of Corinthian: “involving the highest standards of amateur sportsmanship”
Perhaps the “Father Ted Memorial” would be a more apt title for these kind of races. Might even bring more people into the “Home of the Classics”! what a laugh with that Racing TV Promo mention at the end of your clip, CAS. Laugh and Cry indeed
September 25, 2023 at 10:52 #1664460As more alleged details emerge, one thing I will concede is this: charity race or not, riders who aren’t really jockeys or not, there is such a thing as “conspiracy to defraud the betting public” and, seeing as fraud is a crime, it’s a police matter and not merely an issue for racing’s authorities to consider.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"September 25, 2023 at 11:04 #1664464“That Racing TV Promo mention at the end of your clip”.
You do have to wonder if someone at RTV was having a laugh.
September 25, 2023 at 12:04 #1664466When asked when she knew she was going to win she should have said “When Keatly took a pull on his mount to let me through”.
Even onlookers at the finishing line are statues in disbelief. The more I know the less I understand.
September 25, 2023 at 12:20 #1664467Damien Moore has posted on Facebook:
“I should have won but I made a mistake. I took care of my racehorse on ground that did not suit. I thought the race was over and that I had won.”
Right, so his horse was so unsuited by the ground that he sauntered five lengths clear on the bridle and hit 1.01 in running. And he thought the race was over the best part of a furlong before the finish.
Does he really think we are stupid enough to believe that?
September 25, 2023 at 13:58 #1664471I am not sure if I can post it here but if you search “Noble Anthem Curragh”, there is a photograph of the winning jockey smiling away on the winner’s podium together with the jockey on the beaten favourite.
Let’s just say he does not look like a jockey who is devastated after making a terrible mistake.
September 25, 2023 at 14:27 #1664472Charity race or not for the racing is corrupt brigade they must feel all their Christmases have come at once.
The more I know the less I understand.
September 25, 2023 at 15:28 #1664473Unfortunately the sport cannot survive without betting
They should rename it Horse betting racingGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
September 25, 2023 at 16:20 #1664476I meant no betting on charity races. Or as stated earlier, make it very clear in the race card, Racing Post and bookmaker websites that it is an unofficial race without stewards and the jockeys face no penalties. If any punter then chooses to get involved, they would only have themselves to blame!
September 25, 2023 at 16:52 #1664478100% I agree no betting should take place on a charity race IMO
I’d rather have a go on the Virtual racingGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
September 25, 2023 at 17:08 #1664479The third and final leg takes place on Oct 21st at Leopardstown.

Just in case we have a talented young rider on this forum…..
September 25, 2023 at 17:45 #1664480When the leading jockey looks back, perhaps the ultimate winner was so far wide of him he didn’t see it. Can’t believe anyone would bet on this type of race.
September 25, 2023 at 17:51 #1664481Can anyone explain this about the horse’s ownership?
4yo:(16Mar19 b g)
Trainer:Adrian Paul Keatley (Last 14 days: 3-12, 25%)
Owner:Keatley Racing, Doherty And Manson
D Moore & Partner 1 until 19 Sep 2023
Keatley Racing, Doherty And Manson until 10 Sep 2023
Hambleton Racing Ltd Xxxv & Partner until 25 Aug 2023September 25, 2023 at 18:00 #1664482It looks like a horse race, sounds like a horse race and you can bet on it like a horse race. It even takes place at a premier track like some of the very best horse races.
This whole incident undoubtedly brings racing into disrepute. Are they licensed individuals?
Whilst I’m sure almost everyone here wouldn’t touch this rubbish with a barge pole, punters should be aware of the facts before putting down their hard earned and it should be made clear that these are races, Jim, but not as we know them.
I’d have thought the books might think twice next time too.
September 25, 2023 at 18:27 #1664484I honestly wonder, if the third leg will take place after all. There is too much silence from the Racing Authorities, but quite some outrage on social media.
