I’m not a morning person but Mike ( morning person) told me to watch it as it was so good he watched it twice. Edwina Curry, Ed Balls, Simon Calder and Anna Soubry doing battle. I think I deserve a medal for watching Edwina given that I feel obliged to watch everything political at the time. She was my MP for years.Such a contrast between the two ex Conservative MP’s.
Simon, like Andrew Marr and so many of them, was this really pleasant, if slightly detached and eccentric, Oxbridge type who was a consummate expert on his subject, but probably wouldn’t know how to change a light bulb or the price of a pint of milk.
It was comfortably the worst-paid job I ever had in the media, but also comfortably the most pleasant working environment.
