“Ooh- I didn’t know expletives got replaced with asterisks here. That word was foxtrot uniform Charlie kilo echo delta, in case it needs spelling out.”
Yes, they do.
We don’t tolerate foul langauge on “TRF” and have a “filter” in place.
Matron
July 24, 2022 at 15:19 #1608364I’d request you add “prat” and “twat” to the filter, Matron, but my curiosity at seeing **** and wondering what four-letter word he’d called me this time might be unbearable!

Clive has taken an indefinite break from “TRF”.
He will come-up as “Banned” but, he has requested that his account to be suspended until further notice: He will be welcomed back at any time.
This thread has been quite emotive with very strong views of either side of the political divide and has recently turned into mud-slinging match.
Sometimes if you strongly disagree with a post, silence says more than a emotive response.
Matron
July 24, 2022 at 16:33 #1608382With all due respect, Matron, there was only one person hurling personal abuse and insults around.
July 24, 2022 at 16:53 #1608385Ahead of tomorrow’s debate at 9pm on BBC1, Truss has hardened again slightly to 1.52 with Sunak 2.96.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"July 24, 2022 at 19:04 #1608400Anyone think that the current ~2/1 Sunak could prove to have been value after the two forthcoming TV debates, in which it’s generally expected that he’ll prove more adept at answering whatever questions are posed than will Truss
Might even be tempted to watch them as I would dearly love to see Truss implode
July 24, 2022 at 19:17 #1608401Hope the crazy mixed-up kid Clivexxxx reappears sometime
He’s his own worst enemy but I’ve long found him entertaining, and on occasions insightful
A Turfiste and lover of Cricket
: all sins therefore easily forgivenGood taste in music too, Pet Shop Boys excepted

He self-excluded some years ago on the forum where horses talk after another something-and-nothing bust-up and hasn’t returned so…
…adieu you cantankerous funny old four-letter-word
July 24, 2022 at 19:29 #1608402Crikey. It’s all happening on here. I decided today that I needed a break from Facebook because, having pointed out that most of the people behind the leave campaign are now proved to be liars eg one of them is in prison (Bannon) and another has had to leave office for lying ( Johnson) I keep being told that I’m accusing leave voters of being thick. I pointed out that I’ve never said that but have had verbal abuse hurled at me in the street by leave voters. Politics has become so nasty and divisive. I actually felt that clivexx and I had started to find some common ground. Let’s hope that, after a bit of time out we can continue to do that.Divide and rule policy seems to be working quite well but isn’t in the best interest of the country is it. And it’s playing into the hands of the Bannons of this world. If Alastair Campbell and Rory Stewart can do a podcast together I’m sure we can all get on.
July 24, 2022 at 19:52 #1608406Blimey. Looks like I have somehow missed all this. Possibly for the best. With you all the way Moehat. That said, although I follow Campbell on Twitter and enjoy his posts, as I worked at the BBC during the Dr Kelly/dodgy dossier era, and saw many of those communications, I wouldn’t trust him any further than I could spit a rat!
July 24, 2022 at 19:57 #1608408As to Tory Leader. Makes no difference. Same people will control the party whoever wins. We don’t know who they are but they are not elected & have plenty of money. Well done to anyone who makes money betting on it as it’s the only chance you’ll get (unless you’re already super rich).
July 24, 2022 at 21:12 #1608420You’ve got it all wrong, Tonge. We voted for Brexit to make sure that we are not run by the unelected and anonymous.
July 24, 2022 at 21:16 #1608423It’s so 1984 isn’t it. The ERG ( strangely named given they they spent how many years plotting to get us out of the EU?) have well and truly taken control. Isn’t Mark Francois quite big in the group?
July 24, 2022 at 22:00 #1608431As he was nowhere near as bad as Tank and Ricky Lake plus – unlike that duo – he occasionally offered up dark cutting wit that made me laugh, I’m glad it was a unilateral decision on his part.
Can’t say I’ll miss him overall, though, tbh.
TTC is the one I miss but, like the football manager who watches his player take off and fly in with an airborne two-footed challenge, my only comment is “no complaints” when quizzed about the red card at the post-match press conference.
I wonder if the market has already factored in Truss struggling on the telly tomorrow night?
I’d imagine there might be a snap poll of Tory members immediately after it.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"July 24, 2022 at 23:12 #1608434Oh yes Gladiateur. Keep forgetting we’ve “taken back control”.
The fact that Truss will just parrot soundbites & gibber incoherently throughout an interview will not deter those with a vote. They voted for Johnson.
July 24, 2022 at 23:29 #1608437Also missed the passing of TTC. He/she/it did seem to be getting increasingly crazed and determined to launch personal attacks on individuals for no apparent reason towards the end but also posted some good stuff.
July 25, 2022 at 00:19 #1608441Why are the voters going to be allowed to change their vote? Or did I imagine that. Is it to give them time to forget about Truss making a complete idiot of herself on Monday night? Or is it so Johnson can be added to the vote at a later stage?
July 25, 2022 at 03:50 #1608444All joking apart I really do hope that Clivex gets the help that he obviously needs.
I gave up taking anything too seriously a couple of years back, when I was seriously ill and have mostly resisted the temptation to wind him up but I regret doing it at all now.
My marching days are over and I no longer want the rest of the Country to see things my way.
