I have my fingers well and truly crossed that Benitez will soon be on his way out of Anfield, and everything else crossed that a certain Portuguese gentleman, currently based in Italy, finds his way in.

Nottingham Forest – In their first game after the announcement of Billy Davis as their new permanent manager Forest beat Manchester City 3-0 in the FA Cup (8/1 available) In his first offical game in charge Billy Davis led Forest to beat Charlton 2-0 away from home (9/4 available) This ends our interest in Forest.
Bournemouth – In their first game with Eddie Howe in charge as caretaker manager Bournemouth lost 2-1 away to Darlington. Having led early they were undone by an 83rd min equaliser and a 90 min pen.
Derby County – In their first game after the announcement of Nigel Clough as their new permanent manager Derby beat Manchester Utd 1-0 in the first leg of their League Cup semi-final (13/1 available). Derby lost their first league game with Nigel Clough in charge 0-2 at home to QPR.
Norwich City – Old (lets be havin’ ya) Delia don’t mess about as Norwich have parted company with not only their Manager Glenn Roeder but also two first team coaches! Their next game is at home against Barnsley on Saturday. Norwich won 4-0
Inverness Caledonian Thistle – Have sacked manager Craig Brewster and his assistant Malcolm Thompson. Director of Football Graeme Bennett along with First Team Coach John Docherty and Goalkeeping Coach Stuart Garden will prepare the team for Saturday’s game away to Hearts. ICT lost 3-2 to a last minute goal away to Hearts. Having now appointed Terry Butcher as manager they play Celtic at home in his first match in charge[/color:i4ickstc]
Leyton Orient – Martin Ling has left as Leyton’s manager by mutual consent. Youth team manager Kevin Nugent has been appointed Caretaker Manager for tomorrow nights game against Southend. Having led from the 11th min Leyton Orient let slip in the 6th min of injury-time and drew 1-1
Walsall – Having sacked Jimmy Mullen earlier in the month John Scofield took temporary charge as Caretaker Manager for Saturday’s game away to Peterboro which Walsall lost 0-1. Following on from this Scofield has today been relived of his duties and a new management ‘team’ is to be announced tomorrow who will be in charge for next Saturday’s home game against Hereford. Walsall drew 1-1 with Hereford[/color:i4ickstc]
Southampton – Have announced their manager Jan Poortvliet has resigned. Southampton drew 2-2 away to Norwich in their first match without a manager.[/color:i4ickstc]
