Corm, are you sure about that team? I can’t remember them playing in stripes – I can remember they played in white for a couple of season. But to be honest I’m not sure about any of this as I also seem to remember Hibs playing in blue for a couple of years – that can’t right.
January 13, 2009 at 22:11 #203734Yes, I remember white with a gold and black stripe – I’ll need to do some more research.
January 14, 2009 at 23:45 #203981Notes Update:
Nottingham Forest – In their first game after the announcement of Billy Davis as their new permanent manager Forest beat Manchester City 3-0 in the FA Cup (8/1 available) In his first offical game in charge Billy Davis led Forest to beat Charlton 2-0 away from home (9/4 available) This ends our interest in Forest.
Bournemouth – In their first game with Eddie Howe in charge as caretaker manager Bournemouth lost 2-1 away to Darlington. Having led early they were undone by an 83rd min equaliser and a 90 min pen.
Derby County – In their first game after the announcement of Nigel Clough as their new permanent manager Derby beat Manchester Utd 1-0 in the first leg of their League Cup semi-final (13/1 available)
Norwich City – Old (lets be havin’ ya) Delia don’t mess about as Norwich have parted company with not only their Manager Glenn Roeder but also two first team coaches! Their next game is at home against Barnsley on Saturday.

Hibs had a purple away-strip in the 70’s (the original Bukta number), but I don’t ever recall a blue strip.

January 17, 2009 at 23:51 #204775At the risk of lowering the tone, Walsall have also parted with their manager – former used car salesman and Father Ted lookalike, Jimmy Mullen. Today was the first game of the post-Mullen era. They lost.
January 18, 2009 at 01:03 #204785Thanks Andrew – sorry to have missed that. I shall update according.
January 18, 2009 at 01:06 #204787If you’re keeping a handwritten record, I’d do the Walsall entry in pencil. We’re likely to go through one or two more gaffers before we get relegated.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle – Have sacked manager Craig Brewster and his assistant Malcolm Thompson. Director of Football Graeme Bennett along with First Team Coach John Docherty and Goalkeeping Coach Stuart Garden will prepare the team for Saturday’s game away to Hearts[/color:1km4p8jq]. What do you reckon Corm – worth putting a fiver on ICT?
Leyton Orient – Martin Ling has left as Leyton’s manager by mutual consent. Youth team manager Kevin Nugent has been appointed Caretaker Manager for tomorrow nights game against Southend.

Walsall – Having sacked Jimmy Mullen earlier in the month John Scofield took temporary charge as Caretaker Manager for Saturday’s game away to Peterboro which Walsall lost 0-1. Following on from this Scofield has today been relived of his duties and a new management ‘team’ is to be announced tomorrow who will be in charge for next Saturday’s home game against Hereford[/color:1km4p8jq]Why has this page gone all funny and wide?
January 20, 2009 at 15:59 #205312New Walsall manager is Chris Hutchings.
January 20, 2009 at 18:47 #205359In the interests of fairness, you may have to keep separate records for this sytem now, one with Walsall’s results and one without!
January 20, 2009 at 21:54 #205404Chris Hutchings – thats an odd appointment.
January 21, 2009 at 01:52 #205455Odder than an alcoholic former England player with a gambling problem, no experience of management and no assistant? Or indeed our previous incumbent, a former used car salesman who hadn’t managed a club for a decade? And in between them a very good manager no-one had ever heard of who unfortunately had the public relations instincts of Gengis Khan.
And when you look at some of the other names on the list, it could be a lot worse. (Ian Atkins, for heavens sake!) Martin O’Connor as assistant manager might also bring a few of the protesters back to the Banks’s.

January 23, 2009 at 02:32 #205925Ossie Ardiles was on the radio this evening and said ICT has been in touch with him to enquiry whether he would be interested in the vacant managerial postion and he is stated he definately is.
Could be some exciting games coming up for the Inverness fans
