Good stuff: eloquent and enjoyable

I enjoyed the article – especially the detailed ranting about Channel 4. It sounds terrible. I’m in America with no access to the Festival, so apart from slashing my wrists in hopeless despair over not seeing it, at least I can read a comic review of their coverage (albeit with serious undertones).
I don’t agree with your views on patriotism but the reference to making it appeal to football fans was interesting. "Dumbing down" springs to mind.
Another article I’m afraid – one of the dangers of having four days off work is that I get to spend more time with my keyboard

To be fair, Channel Four’s coverage did have its good moments and I thought Thommo’s interview with Ashley Brook’s owner was pretty good – he is actually a fairly sympathetic interviewer, even if he did overdo it a little.
Found myself listening more to Francome and filtering out McGrath by the fourth day and thought his feature on Exotic Dancer was interesting.
And even McCririck showed some touches of humility when confronted with a bunch of students dressed as him.
