Had a nutty bet last night…Coo Star Sivola. Ignore his form on soft ground. Clearly well thought of, very good form in graded hurdles on good ground and a 2m 4f Graded novice hurdle winner on New Year’s Day at Cheltenham. Probable runner IMO, so had £2 400s, £2 700s, £3.15 710s. Almost certainly not good enough.

Ok, I’m just gonna stop wasting my money in this market :D

Burbank, 95s > 100s. I think he’ll win on Sunday and I like the form.

And also with Rather Be. He runs tomorrow at Sandown and I think he’ll win. I’ve got him down as one of the best novice hurdlers and he has a Neptune entry. Happy to be on at 160s!

Watch Nicky Hendo go from zero handed in the Neptune to two-handed ;)

It was a watching brief for me that early Sandown race, Thought he went down all guns blazing conceding something like a stone to the winner. He’ll make up into a nice handicapper. Unfortunately, not a neptune horse

Now one thing that we can say without a moments hesitation is that Melon is Willie Mullins’ horse for the Supreme. He may go mob-handed but as we know thus far, Melon will be his number one and therefore the mount of Ruby Walsh. Now then, who their other top novice would be is up for some debate, although market vibes, form in the book and visual impressions tell us Cilaos Emery is right up there. On debut, despite looking a tiny wee thing, he winged his hurdles, travelled like a dream and thumped a more than useful type in Joey Sasa. Looking at his action you can only assume better ground will improve him. My guess would be that Cilaos Emery is a very good horse in his own right and were Melon not around, he’d be the number one.

Now, Willie usually sends his better novices to the Deloitte. Circumstances surrounding the timing of Melon’s debut meant that has presumably come too soon for him; therefore no entry. Cilaos Emery however IS entered, and is fully expected to line up for his festival prep. If either he or Melon are half the horses we’re led to believe they are then there’s no chance we’ll see them square off in six weeks, meaning there’s a Cilaos Emery shaped hole in the Neptune for Willie Mullins. 365 are 25/1 NRNB, monster price IF he makes it here :good:

I think this is a good spot Boz, have joined you at 25/1 NRNB.

One I’m debating in this is WILLIAM HENRY.

A lot of us believe the wholestone/west approach form is strong and WILLIAM HENRY wasn’t far behind wholestone last time and did go wide.

Hendo confirms WH goes for Neptune and I think at 34.0 on betfair is a good price.

I still think he is improving and has a lot to offer since a couple years ago, before his injury he was one of hendersons highly regarded horses.

I can see him running well and improving

The first horse I backed for this last April was Battleford at 20/1,apologies for the aftertiming as he’s 190’s now and he’s another one of the Mullins horses who hasn’t shown what he’s capable of yet…Patience is a virtue! I would say I’m £50 down on the race but I also have a tenner on Ballyandy at 26’s so we’ll see what happens there. My idea of the winner though is Messire des Obeaux he ticks every box for me and he just seemed to out stay ‘Ballyandy’ over 21/2m at Sandown giving him 7lb.I cant believe he’s drifting on the machine to 15’s this morning so will hold fire for now but imo he should be the 6/1 2nd fav behind ‘Finians Oscar’.

I have Tommy, although I’m a bit gutted he’s going in this listed race today over the Deloitte. Tells me stable confidence isn’t what it could be. Time will tell anyway, can’t complain with the insurance.

    Haha Zark,
Just go into the corner of the room and have a quiet word with yourself and come back and realise William Henry is the value

I honestly reckon that Lets Dance and Saturnas are Willies two horses for this race. Lets Dance now rated 147 so with The Mares Allowance she is right up there with Finains Oscar. Saturnas is also being aimed at this; remains to be seen just how good he is but he was good over Xmas at 2 miles; think he has an entry for the Deloitte so it will be interesting to see how he does there..

Measure des obeaux running tomorrow against some hot unexposed horses!
I think it will be informative and expect MDO to win as I think he has a good chance in Neptune

Not very impressed with that, expected a win there. I know he’s giving 8lbs to the others but if he’s going to win the Neptune he had to win that.

Although the 1st and 3rd could both prove to be pretty useful themselves

I had a look at Messire Des Obeaux as I found an angle I was interested in but he just looks quite slow to me.

To be fair, he showed more pace than I thought he had and he jumps brilliantly. Super, super jumper. If he ran in the AB, which he won’t, cos of Wholestone (unless they switch the 2 around…if that happened I think I would just go into the corner and cry), he’d win.
