‘However, where the related parts of the bet are resolved at different times, unless ‘special double’ or ‘special accumulative’ odds are available, bets will be settled as instructed with the odds for the second or subsequent legs being determined at each individual stage.’

Here’s your key phrase from the T+C Frankie, and it’s specifically unspecific upon which terms those legs will be settled. I would suggest that the second leg being settled at its own individual stage would imply SP.

Still, a winner is a winner!

Frankie, another staff member who hasn’t a clue I’m afraid. That’s a nonsense response, part of it a template letter by the look of it.

I was once refused by a trader (yes, a trader) at Boylesports a bet on two different horses in a KG/GC double because he said it was a related contingency. He couldn’t explain why it was, just kept repeating until he found somebody who could talk sense.

Went through this race a little last night…of the market principles, I think Bacardys looks most interesting. Willing to give Invitation Only another chance, but Bacardys winning over 2 miles, with that consistent solid bumper form, bodes well IMO. The 3rd from his maiden win LTO has won since and the 2nd runs today at Punchestown. I’d expect him to win.

I had a look at Messire Des Obeaux as I found an angle I was interested in but he just looks quite slow to me. Only picked up Ballyandy/The Cultivator very late on at Sandown after being very outpaced. Could be a RSA horse next year. The Challow lost a lot of value when Robin Roe fell, and when I look for a Neptune horse, I’d like to back a horse I think could be competitive in the Champion Hurdle a year later, and I just don’t get that vibe from Messire Des Obeaux in the slightest. Not to mention the record of Challow winners in the Neptune being dire.

Finian’s Oscar makes no appeal whatsoever and he’s priced up on beating Capitaine fair and square in the Tolworth, which simply isn’t true.

Have they paid you out yet on the Tolworth race Frankie…?
If they are saying it’s RC then you should ask for your winnings now.

I’ve got the following RC bet, I wonder if Thistlecrack wins they will say it’s RC but if he loses the Gold Cup it gets settles as a losing double and no KG winnings…..?

    Hi Nathan,

I am still “discussing” the issue with them…

As for your bet, I suspect your wonderings are correct…are you going to ask or wait until TC wins…?

I’m not going to ask them, no
In my mind if it has been placed as a double if not then why have they not paid out on the King George winnings?

I still fancy Blow by Blow to turn up in this, hes been back in training for a few weeks and will hopefully run around mid February.

It amazes me Gordon Elliot has suggested the AB is the target for death duty already. Looking at the Gigys runners they haven’t got much for the Neptune and BLOW BY BLOW is the strongest in the betting.

He beat Death Duty and Moon racer in Bumpers who are both Favs. He is obviously high class. I’m willing to take the risk at 25/1 and have been nibbling away for a while in small stakes ew lucky 15

Gordon elliot today brung up the possibility of blow by blow keeping to bumpers this season.

Already backed him 14s any race and 25s neptune. And although eligible I would assume the champion bumper at cheltenham would be unlikely with the giggingstown policy, although they usually have a runner.
Lucky pass the other elliot giggi horse I’m waiting for,

I got the impression from the interview that he wouldn’t be ready for Cheltenham and it would then be a bumper or nothing. If it is a bumper they would presumably want to keep him away from Samcro.

Well that is a big blow! Thanks for telling me. Only positive is that i have only bet very small stakes. Was looking forward to him coming back.

One horse Elliott inherited from Willie Mullins who has not been out yet is the promising Blow By Blow.

He beat Elliott’s Death Duty at Fairyhouse and also beat Moon Racer at the Punchestown Festival.

“I’d say he’s a very good horse but he had a little setback and he’s just back cantering now actually,” said Elliott.

“I don’t know if I’ll run him over hurdles this year, I might leave him and go back for one of the championship bumpers, either that or a graded hurdle. He certainly won’t be running in a maiden hurdle at this time of year.

“He beat Death Duty. I was disappointed at the time and thought the bubble had burst, but it just shows how good a horse he is that he beat Death Duty.

    “He’ll be a big three-mile chaser.”

Sounds to me like they don’t want to lose the money they’ve put on Death Duty.

Blow By Blow, winner of the Punchestown Grade One Bumper last year, will not hurdle this season, instead sticking to combat on the level.

On his final start for Willie Mullins, Gigginstown’s steed beat Moon Racer, which is now favourite for the Sky Bet Supreme Novices’ Hurdle. However, minor injuries have compelled connections to skip jumping and preserve the horse’s novice status for next term.
This may influence plans for the very promising Barra, a bloodless winner last Sunday at Fairyhouse. She could switch from the Trull House Stud Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle to the Neptune Investment Management Novices’ Hurdle – a race for which Blow By Blow was 16/1 – at Cheltenham.

Gigginstown’s racing manager Eddie O’Leary said: “Blow By Blow will come back for a bumper this season and will not go hurdling. He’s not long back with Gordon Elliott and the little problem he had is resolved. He had a tiny chip in his knee.”

Regarding Barra, he added: “You’d like to go to the mares’ novice race but it may be on the sharp side so the Neptune comes into consideration. That trip is definitely preferable.
“The next day will tell us where we are. I like her. She has not had her trip yet but if it came up soft at Cheltenham we’d lean towards the mares’ race.”

Tombstone is like Lazarus; he has had the exact same injury in three legs.
“Small stuff, nothing – but frustrating. I’d like to run him. He is a high-class horse. He was supposed to be going chasing this season and would have been a big name for us.

It’s simple with Prince Of Scars. He won’t be running in any more beginners’ chases. He’s not tricky, he simply hasn’t had his ground over fences. He wants it heavy and three miles. He can remain as a novice and go for the good handicaps, starting with the Thyestes

T the strongest maiden hurdle of the season for me.

Saturnas and Monalee look like the best two Irish horses that are likely to turn up here and can both be got at 14/1. Finans Oscar too short at 4/1 at this stage.

Apologies for returning to an old subject only slightly related to the Neptune.

After protracted discussions with William Hill’s ‘customer service’ their position now is that the Tolworth/Albert Bartlett double is considered related contingency. However, the Tolworth/Neptune double isn’t and therefore is a valid bet.

Does that make any sense to you chaps? It doesn’t to me.
