Reported via @Racing_Social on Twitter that Monsignor, winner of the Cheltenham Bumper, Tolworth Hurdle and RSA Hurdle (now the Neptune) has passed away aged 19.
Wonderful horse, never got to realise his full potential.
December 29, 2013 at 02:37 #463343Broken hearted to read this sad news, he was a great ambassador for the Heros Charity and I have spent many a happy moment making a fuss of this beautiful boy at Newmarket when he has come down and stood all day with his carers and fundraisers for this fantastic cause.
Good night darling boy, so sorry I won’t be seeing you again next year, you will be so sadly missed by everyone, God bless Monsignor RIP.

Your legacy lives on, you were an extraordinary and talented racehorse. Thank you for all your efforts raising funds for less fortunate horses.

January 5, 2014 at 19:53 #464021What a shame he was never able to race after his novice hurdle season. I saw him win at Uttoxeter that season but missed his Sun Alliance Hurdle win having rear-ended someone on the way to the course
