Can I just say I think you’re handling this all pretty well and would like to thank you for your efforts.
I for one wouldn;t have the time, inclination and most definitely not tha patience to do deal with some of this. People seem to forget you have to run the forum as well as mediate between a growing bunch of morons.

March 4, 2008 at 11:02 #148315Does phpBB not come with the option of banning people by their IP address, Corm, making it infintely easier to spot repeat offenders?
It is, easy enough to get sofware that will put up a fake IP address.

Seconded, and as a poster of nearly four years’ standing now I additionally have to take issue with this notion that TRF was some sort of unsullied garden of tranquility until recently.
It has, and always will, be susceptible to some nutters slipping under the radar, the Herculean efforts of its moderators notwithstanding. Let’s not forget that none of the the likes of Joe Haywood, Golden Cygnet, Peaty Sandy, Beaker and whosever else caused the problems they did within the last 12 months.

I completely agree. Being a moderator is a thankless task, I’ve done it myself so I know, but I think Corm’s done a great job. And Corm, don’t get disheartened, you’ll never please all of the people all of the time.
