The 2.04 at Craon today bizarrely had a car parked in front of the third fence from home the runners had to go around. From what I could make out this fence was only jumped once at the end but the commentator strangely made no mention of it like it was a normal thing but the Racing Post picked it up.
The more I know the less I understand.

Only the commentator didn’t notice it.

I hear that Mike couldn’t get a signal to cash out so it was a late bid to get the race abandoned

If they in poor taste have to jump what are basically advertising hoardings it shouldn’t surprise us that circumnavigating a Renault is another obstacle. As they say down Auckland way How bizarre, How bizarre!

September 4, 2024 at 10:21 #1706350Just noticed now a report on Paris Turf (Actu – Galop) published on Monday afternoon 15.47 explaining I think it was the Starter’s car that had some start/stop electrical fault and the chap hadn’t time to warn riders of the debacle!

September 4, 2024 at 19:55 #1706358If it was the starter’s car why did he start the race? Or did this happen after they had set off and he jumped in his car to move it. Surely he can’t have parked it there before the race and then let ’em go.
This is so weird. Can’t imagine that happening at Cheltenham.
