I had a great day Graham one runner a non runner
April 17, 2026 at 08:52 #1763927Took the 9/1 Shout ew 6 places with bet 365, still keeping it small 0.5 PTS that’s the Spring Cup and happy they’ve put it back on the straight course

Strange card at Newbury today so no bet, getting old but back in the day did they not run the Fred Darling on the Friday?
Good luck if you play today look forward to people’s thoughts now the flat is back up and runningApril 17, 2026 at 14:30 #1763951Had a mixed bag day at Newmarket yesterday with more misses than hits it was a real puzzler of a day as some of the Godolphin horses failed to shine whilst a couple put on some brilliant performances. Biggest disappointment of the day being Hidden Force who to my eyes looked in pretty good shape if not a little docile in the paddock.
Treanmor was such a disappointment in the first race, up the back end and running out of steam, he never got into the race. I did back Haggass’s Albaydaa for a place in that which was a small saving grace.
Best looking horse of the day a real stunner was the King’s horse Portcullis ridden by Ryan Moore he is going to run some big races this season. You could hear the crowd groan when Crown Knott was headed at the 2f marker and Portcullis made an eyecatching win over Dark Whisper 33/1 who I had backed EW, another saver from left field.
all three including Impierious in 3rd are notebook horses.Quinault ran a terrific race in 3rd in the Abernant but the race was marred by the sad demise of My Mate Alfie who broke down and was taken away by Horse Ambulance. I heard later that they couldn’t save him so bitter sweet for the David O’Meara yard who had the 28/1 winner Run To Freedom.
Hidden Force very disappointing but looked good in the paddock, the mystery of the turning fortunes of the Godolphin horses continues
. Oxagon well backed and won comfortably. In the 4.10 the Maiden Fillies Stakes I was all over Pointe Bleu she is the most outstanding looker very tall and long in the back which bodes well for future longer distance races so look out for her there, she is going to be good.
but not yesterday.
Hasseleh the Godolphin filly looked like a pony next to Pointe Bleu but she is a real pocket rocket, she reminded me of Mawj and she still has some growing to do but I do think she is one to follow…wish I had.
I though Maho Bay had a bit of a tummy on him and he didn’t have a lot to beat to prove himself yesterday. He can only get better for that run.
My only winner of the 3 days came when I least expected it in the ‘Lucky Last’ I backed Royal Velvet 15/2 on course and Eminency 9/1…I was just turning to head for the car park as I saw she was at the back of the field when I heard her name called the winner…couldn’t believe she had come from last to first and with Eminency in 4th I ended up just a little smidge up on the day, I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to go back for the Guineas.
That was my day in a sort of nutshell hope it helps us sort out some winners of future Classics….
Outstanding on the day where
Portcullis & Hassalehfor the future over further….Pointe Bleu

and thanks for heads up on a few for later in season, glad you had a good day and can’t beat ending on a winnerApril 17, 2026 at 16:52 #1763963Well done Jac keeping us in the know, I always keep a note of
those who look well, even if they don’t win they probably will
in the future. Well done in the lucky last
April 17, 2026 at 16:55 #1763964Kind of late start but I caught the 2nd last at Ayr, I took Irish Champ
e/w at 18s. The winner, Alentejo, won well but I’m happy enough with
the e/w on Irish Champ, who was 2nd
I’ll probably look at the last at Ayr now, but I’ll post it up in time.
April 17, 2026 at 17:09 #1763967Thanks Nick and Graham..hope those I mentioned who ran well will do us a turn later in the season..

Louise and I have collaborated to steal some of Paddy’s Money this afternoon..
Louise noticed
Roach Power – took 66/1
was running in the 5.25 at Newbury along with Addison Grey 7/2 who won the grey horse race last August.
I then noticed that Strike 15/2 was running in the 5.20 at Bath he also ran in the grey horse race last August. We have EW bets on all 3 and a comby EW Double just in case..

Fingers crossed 🤞
