Great new Jac about the horses
first day looks a bit low key at Craven meeting but Wednesday onwards looking good
,like being a kids at Christmas
Jac thoughts on all the pull outs in 2000 can a Godolphin horse step up? Thanks for any viewsApril 12, 2026 at 09:32 #1763330Will be on the case Nick

Just briefly and looking towards The Craven, as I will be there, I really like the look of Hawk Mountain on paper with his Group form and 5/2 looks a good price. Sure he will be much shorter on the day if not favourite
Godolphin horses have been a bit hit and miss for a while and Hidden Force could be vulnerable to a class act.
Look forward to seeing them both in the paddock ❤️
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 14, 2026 at 10:08 #1763574Being cautious on the first day at Newmarket and who knows how some of these horses have wintered. Wish I was there round the paddock today but guess will have to wait until Thursday and Dave has a hospital appointment this afternoon so will be catching up on the results when we get home.
Playing 4 of the seven races starting with the 1.15 where I’m taking on the odds on Godolphin favourite.
Usually Charlie Appleby comes to this meeting all guns blazing after a fabulous Meydan but this year they have had quite a few of their team not running to the best of their ability and not prepared to take the chance on the favourite without seeing him. Therefore going with 2 x against the field EW.1.15 – Wield 9/1 EW & Galba 17/2 EW
Richard Hannon seems to have his horses in top form and wouldn’t be surprised if he picks up a few early winners today and Oisin Murphy will have a few top rides under his belt and Wield is poised to improve on his run last year.
In the 2.25 I might be totally wrong here but I’m not sure Talk Of New York will win today. Coming back down to 7f looks just what he is crying out for but I think he may need just the one more race to come out on top so therefore I am going to go the value and back the stable companion Maximised who also looks as though 7f will suit him better going up in trip.
2.25 – Maximised 5/1 EW
3.35 – Regal Envoy 9/2 EW
(He won this race for me last year. Trainer/Jockey comby a big positive
)4.45 – Great Chieftain – 5/2 WIN and Christian David 14/1 EW
I backed Great Chieftain in the Cambridgeshire where he was 7th (just out of the money
) and the booking of William Buick looks enticing.
Christian David has had a run in the Lincoln (9th) Hoping this will be the lucky last.
Bit rushed today because of Dave’s hospital appointment but of course health & family always come first.

Fingers well and truly crossed today but whatever happens by the end of the day we will be a little wiser as to who has their horses up and ready. Love the puzzles just hope I have one or two wins/places today.
Best of luck Nick I know you might be having a small play today but the card looks tricky with the odds on horses sucking up all the value. Will the horses that have run in Meydan have the advantage? Love this time of the year..bring it on.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 14, 2026 at 10:28 #1763575Great write up Jac
The only one i was interested in EW was your selection (sorry) Maximized will wait for a while hopefully your thousands wont affect price, make sure the five run
Money for first Godolphin runner and tbh he would not have to be up to much to win this but can see where you are coming from the way you have played itWill probably be involved in The Sefton tomorrow, now the proper racing starts
Good luck today and cant wait for your views on all things Godolphin this summer
Good luck at hospital today sending love and best wishes
April 14, 2026 at 12:54 #1763583Thanks Nick..we’re off to hge hospital now and bets are on..Best of luck
JacMaximized 6/1 with PP just went in a 2nd time with a freebet at that price EW)

Happy with my 3 placed horses today 😀and good to see that the Godolphin horses are back on track back in the UK. A few clues for me today to horses going forward in particular Wield in the first and Christian David in the last..
JacHoping to do better and find a few winners tomorrow.

April 14, 2026 at 18:12 #1763616Just one bet tomorrow skukusa 0.5pts ew at 6/1
with pp now if it is ok will put my bets with stake on here and do a weekly tally so I don’t clog up thread.Ryan Moore back on board hoping he can show some of the form he did last year
Good luck look forward to all your views and selections
April 14, 2026 at 22:38 #1763636Been studying up on The Fielden tomorrow Nick.. will check out the other races tomorrow..
Good luck with Skukuza.😀🐎🏆2.25 Newmarket – Fielden Stakes
Poseidons Warrior – 5/2 – WIN
Loved the way he led the field and stayed on to win over 1mile 1f in good style looking like he had even more to give.
Although raised in class tomorrow I think he will outrun all challengers including the O’Brien horse Isaac Newton who ran nicely in Group 1 company last time but may struggle in the uphill finish after a mile,
as might Wareeth who won his Maiden in amazing style but on the All Weather.
Morshdi has to prove he can also step up to 1mile 1 furlong, after good runs over 7f and 1 mile.

Boiling Point – 5/2 WIN ❤️
Love this horse and will put him in a double with Poseidon’s Warrior.
Off to my ongoing IT refresher course in the morning but home in time to watch the races on TV.
Good luck Nick and all of us having a dabble.
May sort a few in the later races in the afternoon after my two main hopes have run.

Happy studying , will do more in depth reasoning with selections but the little seven year old was round giving me the run around yesterday.

April 15, 2026 at 12:30 #1763651Good luck Darren
Bit of a drift on my selection being early in year I won’t go in again
April 15, 2026 at 12:45 #1763657Thanks Darren/Nick abd good luck with those choices today.

Pleased to see Poseidons Warrior backed into 7/4..now he just has to win..

Looking forward tomorrow more than anything. It’s my Kempton Darren. ✨️ Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 15, 2026 at 14:34 #1763677Why on earth did Will Buick hold Poseidons Warrior back at the start and give him so much to do at the finish. I thought maybe he felt something not right coming out of the stalls. Had him down to lead most of the way..got that wrong.
Old ‘Happy Haggis’ triumphs again.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 15, 2026 at 15:08 #1763680Was a strange decision Jac as the horse looks an out and out stayed
Market said it all before race about my selection ( that’s why I keep stakes small till around Dante meeting) but the winner looks an improving horse and imo one to keep on the right side of, onwards and hopefully upwards
