What!!!, 50/1 winner in the Cambridgeshire……amazing :yahoo:

A great winner at a staggering price, although I think I would
have had a heart attack watching that finish. I truly couldn’t
call it. Carrying that weight, I wish I had read earlier that
Karl Burke said he was Group Horse running in a handicap. I
might have had a bite. More study needed

Thanks Andre, we had a good break in Pitlochry which was much needed.
It’s a beautiful place, a nice pre theatre meal in the theatre and the
play was interesting if a little manic and the director clearly had
his own ideas, I’m not sure F Scott Fitzgerald would have given his
stamp of approval. The 2 days break was great though :good:

I never even heard Karl Burke say that Graham I think I’d have doubled up on that free bet I used a month ago lol 🤣😅.. I was convinced he’d been nabbed on the line but what a brave boy he was. :yahoo:

Thanks Andre :good: and well done with your 50/1 EW on Dutch Decoy :yahoo:
Did you see Frankie win on Rebel’s Romance at Belmont last night it was amazing the horse hardly needs a jockey he’s that good.

Scored some points in the Godolphin Fantasy League…

    Rebel’s Romance- 500
    Wise Approach – 500
    El Cordobes- 300

    Points: 12240
    Position – 221

Still nowhere near the Leaders  that would need numerous Bonus Races and a small miracle… B-)

    Will update the Leaderboard tomorrow.

Rebels Romance and Bow Echo are my favourite horses at the moment. I only remembered that Rebels Romance was running after the race had ended.

Oh and Zanthos, too. All the other horses seemed to be taking two strides for every one of hers. Their little legs were going like the clappers and she just seemed to glide over the ground!

“Boiling Point is a proper good horse on his day – I think he’s a Group horse in a handicap. He’s got to give a lump of weight away, but this race could suit him.”

Said 3 days before the race. I get the Racing Post online every day, and
I don’t think I read it on Wednesday or Thursday when we were in Pitlochry.
That’s it, that’s the last time I’m going to Pitlochry

That was a terrific statement from Karl Burke Graham, he’s such an honest and open trainer, but I don’t think many pundits picked up that comment and ran with it as it was generally felt he wouldn’t carry the weight and he had an unfavorable draw. It was actually his last race in a Group 3 at York, when he ran a brave 2nd to King Of Cities that he caught my eye and I took the 50/1 with PP for the race. He was only beaten a head and Bullet Point who was trading around 10/1 in AP markets for the Cambridgeshire was behind him in 7th.

William Haggas took Bullet Point out of the Cambrudgeshire as he had to go into quarantine a day later as he is running at Australia’s Rosehill Stadium on November 8th in a race called The Five Diamonds which is for 5 year old horses only…So set your clocks Graham and Moe for that one. ⏰️ he could have a good chance of bringing that home. :good:

I think we all have to spare a thought for Roger Varian who trained the 2nd horse Indalo not just that he got beaten by a very lovely nose but also that a year previous he was the trainer of Boiling Point.

Moe..I saw Zanthos win on Friday she was a different filly to the one who had been beaten by the favourite Touleen in her last race. Apparently I heard afterwards that she’d ruined her chances that day by playing up going to post. She is a beauty as is Bow Echo and you cannot leave out True Love she was standout on looks and ability on Saturday.

Looks like the contenders for next year’s Classics are flexing there mussels, I can’t believe how quickly the flat season is flying by but still the best is yet to come with The Arc next Sunday and the Sun Chariot on Saturday where I’m hoping to see Fallen Angel & Cinderellas Dream. :rose: Jac

I need to spend less time making candles and more time watching/studying racing   Boiling Point was amazing value at 50/1 – even @ 14/1 he was a good bet. (easy to say in hindsight).

Zero points for me in Godolphin – I thought of using one of my two final swaps, and if I had seen Rebels Romance and Wise Approach, I certainly would have… instead I’m stuck on 10,840pts.

I got two emails from Godolphin about horses no longer in training, but when I look at my stable, they don’t show in horse “missing”. The email didn’t actually show a horses name, so I’m guessing it’s just another mess up by them!

What a pressure cooker the end of the Ryder Cup must have been! So happy for Shane Lowery, sinking the winning putt to seal a win on US soil. Lovely stuff!!

Hello to everyone – I hope that all is well.

Just a quick update to Euroalien , I too received the same message
from Godolphin and have since had another e-mail to say that it was
gremlins in the system and there is nothing to worry aboout.

As you say another mess up by them. :negative:

Will try and update my score later on

    Many Thanks :good: :bye:

    Hi Andre & John
I too got exactly the same messages. Firstly 2 x messages saying that I had horses that had been taken out of my stable and then a message saying that my Stable was perfectly safe there had been a gremlin in the system.
Wonder if it’s the same gremlin that is sabotaging all the Bonus Races.

Don’t worry too much about updating your score yet John I think I will wait for Champions Day and then do one as there hasn’t really been a great deal of movement on the Leaderboard and I’m sure plenty more Godolphin horses to run in the next few weeks.

Cinderella Dream is set to run in the Sun Chariot on Saturday and I hope to be there to see her run although I am in the Fallen Angel camp if she runs..just love her.

Regarding the Ryder Cup I thought it was an absolute disgrace from what I saw of it yesterday with the jeering and booing of the Europe Team and it was reported that they even targeted Rory Mcelroy’s wife throwing a drink at her. I hope this yob culture isn’t going to spread into other similar sports. You could see how much the players were put off by the abuse and I’m so glad that Europe won through today I think it gave them the extra push to be strong, stand together and fight for the Cup….well done Europe :yahoo: you are all amazing….Jac

I hope everyone is doing well and staying dry (in the UK) – Please send some of that rain my way please. We are suffering with a lack of rain. Down 10 inches on the year so far.

Have fun at Newmarket tomorrow Jac. Hope you find a few good priced winners

I agree Graham, a getaway is always well appreciated.

Sad not to be going today Andre as had another Migraine this morning and don’t think 50mph winds will do it any favours..so will be curling up in front of the TV with a cuppa of decaf coffee watching all the action. It’s Future Champions next Saturday so I want to be fit and well for that. :good:

    Darren
Will be posting some fancies for Newmarket and Longchamp a bit later today and good luck with your choicex.🐎🏆

Graham Hope you and Marjorie are keeping well. :rose:

Good luck today everyone..I’m hoping my friend will get me a photo of Fallen Angel if she wins the Sun Chariot today 🏆 . Hard to choose between herself and Cinderella’s Dream especially if the ground dries out with the wind. but I”m sticking with my Angel. :good:

    2.40 Newmarket
    Fallen Angel  5/2

So hard to choose between herself and Cinderella’s Dream but she’s a tough nut to crack when challenged and on this very windy day I think she’ll win. 🏆

    4.35 Longchamp
King Of Cities – 10/1 EW

Narrowly beat Boiling Point last time out and has to have a good chance to win this. :good:
