Now 50/1 with Paddy Power
June 8, 2025 at 15:46 #1732568Just a quick update on my Godolphin stable/comp. 3,400 pts and 364th overall. 6 Swaps remaining.
Sovereignty was very impressive winning the Belmont stakes yesterday, as was Lambourn at Epsom.
Hope everyone is doing well.
June 8, 2025 at 15:50 #1732569Why were two races at Saratoga scratched? I assume it was due to the weather and needing to get the Belmont start in time? Shame for the horses that didn’t get a run, though.
June 8, 2025 at 16:42 #1732575Well I had a pretty stinking day at Epsom yesterday but I’ve got
half a chance that my golf could come to the rescue. I backed
Andrew Putnam in the Canadian Open at 100/1 and he’s only 2 shots
off the leader going into the last round. It’s only half a chance,
5 are ahead of him, but after yesterday, I’ll take that.
Moe, the races were cancelled at Saratoga owing to heavy rain
on Friday and Saturday. They tried to get through the card but
it became dangerous.June 8, 2025 at 17:10 #1732585Hope Putnam comes through for you Graham. Did you just back him to win?
The two turf graded races that were cancelled at Saratoga yesterday, because of heavy rain, will be run today as races 12 & 13
June 8, 2025 at 17:43 #1732589Same here Graham..had the most horrendous Epsom..should have known with that changing ground there would be some shock result.
Wish I’d have listened to Kevin Blake on Itv’s Opening Show yesterday morning. He spent a lot of time doing a stride analysis of the Derby and Lambourn turned up tops with Lazy Griff his second choice and Tenessee Stud in 3rd..that Tricast paid a wooping 🔥£8,294🔥…and quite a few got on and smashed their bookies…sadly not me
I did make a Godolphin swap Andre and still have Think Big to run for me after the abandonment of the race last night..Sovereignty was a brilliant win and Desert Flower and Maximized scored for me but I only have 4 swaps left so have to be careful..
I’ll post up my scores later when he’s run his race.Graham ..what do you think of young Tyler Weaver getting to the US Open..what are his chances? Jason Weaver didn’t want to talk about it much yesterday but hasn’t he done well.?
Take care.
Jac x
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...June 8, 2025 at 18:06 #1732591I’ve got a Facebook internet chum who I got chatting to about Zenyatta. She met Saffie and her dad before the Preakness.I was worried about her riding in those conditions but, as with the Preakness, she kept herself out of trouble.Just realised that both the winning jockey in the Belmont and the one from the Derby had both come back from suffering serious head injuries. I remember Will Buick having an accident in America a few years ago. After what happened to Liam ( and Declan many years ago) it’s good to see jockeys come back and have great success. Such a precarious occupation.
June 9, 2025 at 03:29 #1732616Jac, that’s great news for Jason Weaver and his boy Tyler. To be honest Jac,
I don’t know much about the boy as being an amateur and playing in the US Golf
College System I don’t get to see him. He’s definitely one to watch, he’s done
so well winning the Carris Trophy ( English boys under 18 championship). I don’t
think he will be thinking about winning it Jac, I reckon his aim will be to make
the cut at the halfway stage so that he gets a chance to play the final 2 rounds.
If you are bold enough, you can get him at 1500/1 with Paddy power. They haven’t
got all the prices up yet, but a more sensible bet might be top amateur when they
price that one up. I wouldn’t put the it past him. I’ll keep a lookout for him
and let you know before it starts
Andre I took the chance to go with Bet365 who were the best price at 100/1 5 places.
I could have taken less odds for 6th or even 7th places elsewhere. He finished T6th
that should teach me a lesson about greed. I missed out on this one but I reckon I’ll
bag a big one before the season ends. Hope springs eternal
June 9, 2025 at 16:08 #1732651Have to just post this lovely piece of news…
Hillside Animal Charity that supports ex racehorses amongst many other animals has just driven all night to Birmingham to rescue the Bull that had been running loose through the town and on the highway as nobody had claimed him and his future was not looking good.
He is now safe at the Sanctuary in Norfolk along with 750 other rescued cows. They have called him Liam and he seems to have settled in straight away..🫠😃
Here is a short video of his arrival last night ..Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...June 10, 2025 at 08:09 #1732692Thanks for the heads up Graham..I risked s whole £1 EW on Tyler Weaver at 1500/1, where do you ever get those odds in horse racing?
Looking forward to your thoughts on who might win or place in the big one, 10 places seems quite generous and you are the expert eye here.

Best of luck Graham.

JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...June 11, 2025 at 23:19 #1732765Thanks for updating the scores Jac. I will try and remember to make a swap before Royal Ascot to rake in a few more points!

I just checked the odds here in the US – Tyler Weaver is currently 18/1 to be top amateur and 1,000/1 to win it all and only 5/2 to make the cut.
Hope Everyone is doing well!
June 12, 2025 at 02:49 #1732770Good luck with Tyler Jac, this is going to be just about the toughest course
set-up for a US Open Jac. The rough is 5 inches high, right from the side of
the fairway, they don’t a light rough and the deeper rough further back. If
you’re in the rough, you’re in the thick stuff. If you can’t keep the ball
on the fairway, you’re in trouble.I’ve gone for 2 and also bet the 1st round leader. You need a pair of steady
hands and that’s what Shane Lowry has, he should be able to keep it on the short
stuff, with the occasional mistake no doubt. My other fancy is Keegan Bradley, who is playing well and has played well over
the course.Shane Lowry 35/1 (45/1 1st round leader)
Keegan Bradley 80/1 (60/1 1st round leader.
All bets on Paddy Power as their odds are best (of the bookmakers I have anyway,
and only 1 firm, Priced Up, beat Paddy with Bradley at 66s in 1st round).Good luck with Tyler Jac, but I agree with Andre, his best chance is top Amateur
at 18/1 with Betfred and Betvictor.Good luck all (love Liam the bull arriving at his new foreverhome)
June 12, 2025 at 02:55 #1732771I maybe should mention that the 1st players tee off at 11.45am. Oakmont
being 5 hours behind us means they tee off at 4.45pm our time.June 12, 2025 at 16:15 #1732798Good Luck with your bets Graham (you too Jac)! Tee to Green accuracy will be a major key to winning this one.
June 12, 2025 at 19:07 #1732809Oh Jac, I hope you didn’t take my golfing “expertize” particularly with
Shane Lowry, I have never seen him play a worse round. Keegan Bradley
isn’t out of it at 3 over, but he’ll need a couple of good rounds.Tyler won’t make an appearance until 12.30am. I thought the 18/1 top
amateur was worth a fling
June 12, 2025 at 19:14 #1732810It’s OK Graham I didn’t didn’t do Lowry or Bradley but I did do Tyler Weaver for Top Amateur
I’ll enjoy having a little dabble on the Golf along with yourself and Andre giving good advice
