Wish I had golf to fall back on like you experts Graham and Darren, I just have to rely on my good old intuition and the AW is so much more difficult to crack than the turf but have had some decent priced places and wins so not complaining.
Well done with your winner yesterday Darren and weekend bets. I don’t always spot them as you dont put meeting or time they are running so apologies if I miss one..you are doing great.
Jac

JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...March 6, 2021 at 12:01 #1527541Well that’s all my competitions done, I hope. It’s odds on I’ll miss
one one week, I think I’ll make a list and tick them off
Bets today are pretty much as per my Select 3 Horses and 4PP compy
choices…..1.15 Newbury – Sizing Codelco 33/1 Bet 365
He’s not easy to catch right, but he’s been sliding down the
handicap over the past couple of years to the tune of 20 + lbs.
With the Decent apprentice taking a furthe 7lbs off, if there’s
anything left in the old boy he has to have his best chance in a
long time here.1.50 Newbury – Another Crick 11/1 Bet365
Looked a decent sort a couple of years back but has had his
problems and missed 2 years. Every chance he would have needed
his 2 runs on his comeback, both which were encouraging, so
hopefully he can continue of the upward curve here.2.40 Kelso – Aso 3/1 Skybet
I’m glad I grabbed the 3/1 earlier as he’s into 9/4 now. I couldn’t
work out how Two For Gold was fav earlier when there was a neck between
them last time out at Warwick and there’s a 9lb swing here in favour of
Aso. Some decent horses in this, but most, Cloth Cap, Lake View Lad and
Definitely Red don’t want to bust a gut here when their eye is firmly
set on the National.3.30 – Special Prep 11/1 Betfair Sports Book
He’s been spared the slog through the mud by running him on the dirt
at Newcastle in a couple of NHF races. Basically that was just marking
time for better ground. He should be right at home here and he was a c/d
winner over fences 2 years back, albeit he reverted to hurdles after
that, but he should be fine back over fences now he’s got his ground. Those are my main hopes, I’ll see if I chance either of my reserves
later.Best of luck today with the Meydan competition, I think it could
be the bonus race that sorts the wheat from the chaff
March 6, 2021 at 12:26 #1527560Good luck with your choices Graham
I’m so late today as we are having problems with our boiler at home and plumber been walking round house draining rads etc etc been hard to concentrate..I’ve already missed 2 winners this morning Glasvegas at Lingfield and Pnbadol at Meydan (think I need a couple
)..not big prices but would have helped the pot.It took me quite a while to decide which 2 horses to leave out at Meydan today but decided on Dubai Icon and Royal Marine (watch him dot up,)
It was going to be Dubai Mirage but I think he has a decent chance to win or place.Bonus race in 15 minutes and I have WALTON STREET as the winner in my bonus race Dubai Future 2nd, Brilliant Light 4th and Desert Fire 5th I think Dubai Warrior and Frankie might mess up the places for us but I am backing Brilliant Light EW…so here goes and good luck.. Jac

I left out Desert Fire and Dubai Icon
Bonus was Walton Street and Dubai Future 1st and 1st
Brilliant Light 3rd and Desert Fire 4thGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
March 6, 2021 at 13:02 #1527576Hello Everyone – Hope you’re all well!
I got my swaps in for Meydan. For what it’s worth I left out Desert Fire & Man of Promise (so watch Man of Promise romp home in front). I think I got three out of four right in the bonus race.
Good Luck with your bets Darren & Graham! (& everyone else too!)
How’s the toe Nathan?
I think we need a Wilson pupdate Jac! Oh and how’s your grand-baby doing?Stay Safe Everyone!!
March 6, 2021 at 13:06 #1527578Wow Jac, I think you’ve just scooped 600 points with the bonus race.
I’m like Nathan, we both had the 1st 2 for 1st place, Nathan got the
3rd and 4th the wrong way round and I had Desert Fire 2nd and Brilliant
Light 3rd, should have been 3rd and 4th, so we’ve kind of missed the
boat with 200 points each. Well done Jac, that could be crucial
March 6, 2021 at 13:06 #1527580Toe is good thanks Andre
had trouble with my whole foot since, still limping but at least I can put weight on it so moving in the right direction.
Euro don’t forget Bobs 4pp comp
Well done with the bonus points. I tried to be clever, it didn’t work…
Jac, I have sent you an emailGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
March 6, 2021 at 13:07 #1527581Well done Andre, you can join Jac at the top of the class with
600 bonus points
March 6, 2021 at 13:14 #1527584Thanks for the reminder Nathan – I forgot about the new comp. I’ll get right on it! Hopefully you’ll be back to running around soon.
Thanks Graham.
March 6, 2021 at 13:14 #1527585Nice to hear from you Andre..I’ll get Chris to take a cute photo of Wilson for the pupdate soon..there is one but my little granddaughter Emily is in it …she’s only 4 and her and Wilson are partners in crime. Chris took a shot of the pair of them asleep on the lounge carpet together Emily has her arm round Wilson and he has a protective (huge) paw over her..he’s bigger than her now as she’s a bit of a dot for her age, never keeps still.
It was a moment of calm.
Oscar is doing fine..we see him for the first time on Wednesday.can’t wait.
Hope your family are all well too.Looks like we both may have found 3 Bonus places..pats on back
and a good start to the day. Although I did hear SBS bigging up the chances of Royal Marine the one I took out
. But bonus points have made up for that thank goodness.Good luck all lets try to make Page 1 this week.

Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...March 6, 2021 at 13:30 #1527588Wilson is such a good boy! It’s amazing how kids and dogs bond so well. My kids did that when they were little with our first lab. My daughter would dress him up, paint his nails and he took it all in stride, at times with a pained expression on his face.
Glad to hear Oscar is doing well – Wednesday will be such an exciting day for you Jac!

All is well here – we leave for our trip to Arizona next Sunday (daughters wedding celebration on Mar 20th) – so I’ll be there for Cheltenham. Not sure how may races I’ll get to see
but it will be a fun trip.Yes it was a good start for Meydan comp. Hopefully it will continue.
Thanks to Nathan I even got my picks into the 4PP competition.
March 6, 2021 at 13:42 #1527600Just watched my old friend Ornate fight his way back to win at Newbury.
My Nap for the 4PP although I didn’t put him in select 3 horses as I liked 2 in that race and went Blue de Vega there..what a great horse Ornate is.
Lol Andre what a lovely story about the nail painting..Wilson has something to look forward too with 2 little girls in the house..
Have a lovely time at your daughters wedding in Arizona, bet you will be so proud and hope you get one or two in for Cheltenham to help pay for the day.
Dubai Icon race imminent the one a lot of us have left out..back later
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...March 6, 2021 at 14:06 #1527603A nice win from Umbrigado @ Newbury, who I have in Neil’s handicap contest. Of course, I didn’t pick him in the Pick 3 or the 4PP but I’ll take it.
Yes, Wilson will have his paws full with two little girls taking care of him.
The wedding is very scaled down, only 20 people in total – but it will be a wonderful day. We’ll be there about 10 days in total – so it will be a lovely time.
3 runners for me in the next at Meydan.
March 6, 2021 at 14:09 #1527605Well done with Ornate Jac, I’ve bet him a couple of times too, but not
today. He’s an honest give it all horse. Very nice price at 9/1 too
March 6, 2021 at 14:16 #152760950/1 each way for Eqtiraan
looks out of his depth but owes me nothingGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
March 6, 2021 at 14:24 #1527611Great call Nathan! A close second at 50/1
Well done mate
