Delighted that Godolphin are running their Fantasy Stable competition again. At least it’s something that shouldn’t be affected by the inevitable UK national lockdown! Hope everyone manages to find some enjoyment (and a few winners) over this weirdest of Christmases

Thanks for the heads up on the Fantasy League Tonge..for some reason when I go to Club Godolphin they haven’t been mentioning it.

I think I’ll open the Thread around 7th January which will be our first Meydan Thursday of the year here. :good: and we can report our scores back as before and hopefully make it through to the Dubai World Cup next March. :good:

Enjoy the Christmas racing and have the best Christmas possible in these strange times.. :rose: Jac

Oh Graham..just like you I couldn’t bear to watch that rerun..it’s been the story of my life this week and just hope there isn’t a third.

We as a family have decided not to meet up this year as daughter Louise and husband expect their baby 16th January. Having had 2 miscarriages last year we are all concerned about passing anything on and being in Tier 4 doesn’t allow us to do much socialising anyway.
So presents will be dropped off on doorsteps and opened Christmas morning via Zoom and plenty of Mulled Wine. ;-)

As you so rightly say Graham people have to take this seriously and hopefully soon the vaccine will be widely rolled out and we can get back to some sort of normal.

My friend sent me this cartoon on WhatsApp which might raise a smile..who would have thought we would ever see a Christmas such as this one…

Stay safe everyone and enjoy the best Christmas possible..Jac x 🎅🎅🎄🌈🌟🎄

I got an email from Godolphin today Jac, just announcing the contest, with more details to come. Hopefully your luck will change soon, just in time for Meydan!

Nice selections Darren – I’m on LostinTranslation – hope I don’t curse him for you! Good Luck

Makes sense Jac – especially with your daughter expecting so soon. That will be exciting for you in January :)

We’re hoping to see my son and his gf on Christmas day, – other than that, it will be lots of Zoom. We dropped off presents for my in-laws yesterday, waved at everyone through a window. :-( It will be Christmas we won’t soon forget – and not for any good reasons!

Wishing you all the best possible Christmas, enjoy the excellent racing and look forward to a good New Year. Stay Safe my friends and hopefully we will all find a few winners!

Thanks Andre the Fantasy League contest actually starts 21st January so plenty of time to sort our Stables out.

My daughter sent me this today it made me laugh thinking of the big clearout going on at the moment in the White House.

I had a good laugh Jac at the Orange One being unceramoniously shipped out of
the Whitehouse, and not a minute too soon :yahoo: It was the right call keeping
your daughter at arms length Jac, you can’t be too careful in her present condition.
Plenty of time for celebrations after the event when it safer to have a get together.
All the best to you and your hubby Jac :good:

Andre it’s great to hear you can manage to have your son and his girlfriend over
on Christmas day, and at least you can catch the others up on zoom. My son in
Germany has set up a zoom room for Christmas and we are having a big family get
together at 1pm, with all having a glass of bubbly at the ready. So we will get
to see my son and his wife in Germany, my son and his partner in London and my
sis in law in Stratford. My sis in law has added that there will be a special
prize for the one that can come up with the worst Christmas joke. My jokes are
pretty bad at the best of time so I’m thinking I’m round about even money ;-)

Nick, all the best to you and yours and I hope all is going well with your move
to Bishops Cleeve, it look to be a beautiful area, and only a handful of miles
to Cheltenham. Hopefully before too long you can take advantage of a wander over
to the most magnificent racecourse in the UK.

John I’m hoping you are recovering well from your spell in hospital, you’ve been
sadly missed, but good to see you back here again. Take it easy and have a great
Christmas (but don’t overdo it  )

Good to hear from you Tonge, and I think we’re all looking forward to the Meydan
Meetings starting next year. Who would have thought we’ve been all together here
from the yearly canival in Maydan clean through to the next  Strange
times indeed. Hope your Clan are all doing well having a good Christmas, even
if you’re all zooming like most of us :good:

Nathan I’ve got my 3 in for your King George VI challenge, I reckon my name’s
on that tenner of yours :good: That was dashed bad luck with Ferny Hollow, I
reckon he was going to get you a good return. It’s maybe a longshot after 1
race, but your filly Sammarr impressed me enough to have a small flutter on
the 1000 Guineas and Oaks, both 40/1 with Bet365, she has some turn of foot.
Don’t be climbing up too many ladders when it turns icy, we don’t need you
hobbling about again. I hope you and Alex have a cracking time over Christmas
and new Year. Stay safe mate :good:

Darren me old mucker, it’s been great to see you sticking up your ante post fancies
in here, I should have been following them and it would have been easier to pay
Santa  Good luck with your festive bets at Kempton, over in Ireland and
at Chepstow too. Are you going to be on the radio any time soon on the sports
quizes, give us a shout if you are and I’d love to listen in, you’re knowledge in
the sports is terrific. Have a good Christmas mate, I’m looking forward to the
golf getting back on track after the New year. We all had a darned good year, so
hoping for much of the same next year :good:

Here’s wishing for better times ahead. All the best, keep in touch and stay safe
    everyone :rose:

I thought that Trump video was so clever Graham and loved the hand at the end pulling him into the trash lorry..ha ha.🤣😅

Thank you for an absolutely perfect summing up of all our friends on here Graham and I would like to echo all your thoughts  x..
If HRH needs someone to write her Christmas message she need look no further. :rose:

All I can say is thank goodness for Zoom as we will also be opening our Christmas presents with the family via this fantastic piece of technology.

How wonderful that you can join your whole family as Germany, London and Stratford unite over bubbly. I’m sure you will come up trumps with the best Christmas joke Graham but you have to publish it here (if clean enough ho ho ho🎅)
All good wishes to you and yours and keep safe and well..

No need to worry about me up the ladder BigG,
I’d rather knock a quid off the bill than take any risks.
I treated myself to some new ladder feet the other day and the difference is unreal

Well done with the thread Jac, I’ve no doubt you hitting your target of views
hope Wilson got some presents too…

Hope everyone had a good Christmas & that Santa was good to you! It was a different day, but nonetheless one we will not soon forget! Like several on here, I was able to visit with my daughter and in-laws viz Zoom and spent a good day with my son and his gf.

Graham you did an excellent job of summing up this thread. I echo your thoughts – this thread has been amazing through this insane year.

Good Luck with your bets everyone and with your TTF horses. I’m expecting a big win from Epatante! I’d love to see LostinTranslation bounce back and win the KG, I’m just concerned after his run a few weeks ago and after his flop last year. Fingers crossed!

    Stay Safe Everyone!!

Glad Christmas went well for you Andre and thank goodness for Zoom it’s so much better than Skype much more reliable.

Hope everyone had a great time hooking up with family and friends.

I had a funny feeling as soon as Nathan put up that promo from Skybet and Betway matching a £10 at Even Money on Epatante that things might not be going to go her way but refrained from saying anything as I thought it might jinx her chances..no need Silver Streak just blew her away today..like you Andre I was so looking forward to an outstanding performance but sadly not to be.

The day got worse as one of my much loved flat horses Big Country lost his life at Wolverhampton today, suspected heart attack. what a dreadful year this has been.

Little Frodon amazed us all by winning the King George when most had written him off it was a shame to see horses such as Cyrname, Rel Steel and Lostintranslation pulled up and it was stated on Racing Post that Lostintranslation bled from the nose. Just glad they are all safe :rose:
Take nothing away from Frodon though.. well done little fella for running such a brave race. :good:

No luck in 3 horses again this week for me but don’t forget
Pat’s Handicap compy (Red Rum) is on Sunday this week at the Welsh Grand National so that should be a doddle.

Best of luck and keep safe and well as always..Jac :rose:
