Lol@bigtony, axe to grind by any chance!!!!!

So whats the difference between you advertising a syndicate to those advertising tips for sale? Why should you advertise something for free when advertisers pay for it and keep the site going. The only reason it would be dying (which stats say different) is because bottom feeders think they can leech off TRF’s success and you wouldn’t want to do that would you?????

If the forum hums then simply leave instead of whinging like a two year old toddler like you usually do. Every 3 months or so we are subjected to your idle threats of leaving or comments on how dead this place is, you’ve made more comebacks than Noel Edmunds!

"Made a few tidy quid out of TRF syndicates", oh dear! I’m glad I’m not investing in your syndicate if you are so green to think that I’ve made a few quid as I could have brought a brand new car with how much I’ve spent on funding the syndicates over the last 4 years as you’ll find out.

You would have to pay to advertise your syndicate in the racing post so why would you expect to do it free here, even more so why would you want to if the place is so dead in your opinion?<br>

    Don’t be an arse, bigtony.

The rules of the forum are there for you to read where it clearly says you should not ‘solicit other Members’ business, buy or sell products and/or services through the Website’.

Why do you find this unreasonable?

In addition, I think calling a named jockey a cheat would, unless carefully worded, also bring about some kind of warning.

Instead of complaining about the quality of posts, why don’t you try posting something interesting and intellectually simulating for once?

By the way, many congratulations on going what appears to be a record three posts without feeling the need to remind everyone about your vast experience of riding/schooling racehorses.

He speaks in glowing terms of you too, bigtony, and your reputation will only be further enhanced by this latest insightful, entertaining and erudite contribution.

So why do you think the forum rules are unreasonable?

Nathan, I have to thank you for resurrecting this thread as I don’t think I have ever seen it before.

So many blasts from the past.

BigTony – he was a rock and a great friend to me way back then, along with Nick Hatton (phenomenal guy) and a few others.

I hope they are all alive and well, whatever they are up to nowadays.

Thank you Nathan is the News you have certainly brought it back in buckets here. Was a real joy to relive the parrying again in the technicolour and high energy that ran through every damn word – no quarter lost. A lot of bitterness from Cormack’s back end but he’s mellowed now after the Pinza attack disemboweled his bile and left mellow yellow for acid green – a Donovan replacing a Lennon a koala for a lion a Gladstone a Mussolini. We all change ! He is still a strong admin but more a sharp word these days than a knife.

Deb’s big white lie [This is my surmise rather than fact] that she gifted this forum to David got him off on the wrong foot. I know why she said it and I don’t blame her. The hub for everything and the waterboard advert started an avalanche of discontent which led to Hoppers defection. If people had been aware of David’s ‘investment’ many would have been more sympathetic for his seeking a return. That’s not to belie the fact that even if a gift ( which I for one don’t really believe) the forum needs some financial return if it is to be run well. I would not have shelled out 10k ( not that David paid that amount or half – possibly near half) but I could have done if I had really wanted to direct this hothouse of flies. Razeen Diane and Grass would have stayed under my light touch diktat. I could not have put in the time that Cormack has devoted here and yes he’s made mistakes but it’s not easy and I would have made more. David is a better horseman than me and that matters. I am a disciplinarian and might have ruled with a fist of fury but would have only given Razeen a three month ban for his hurt. I would have him back in a heartbeat. He was like a moody Mozart – he couldn’t help himself after a couple of super cans addled his pinstripes into weapons of war. He was a lost direction less soul looking for some kind of recognition and approbation rather than salvation. Diane and Grayson completed fir the best all rounder and tight between them.

I actually played a joke on De Niro ( it was my partner’s gaff not mine ) by making his bed squeak – and Bob don’t like squeaking at night. I also had the broom cupboard tennis player stay. He’s a hero and Wimbledon is the poorer without Boris Van Gogh’s piercing eyes settling the score.

Sad that Jim has left the earth. He was the real deal, as much as Razeen. I would have bowed down and paid and forked out a kings ransom to keep his bile spraying the hapless flies.

I do not write in such hyperbole and my style is more staid. As I said before everyone changes over time. I miss Jillyboots I really thought she had some *rse on her words and was a skirt on fire when she really got going. Fine memories of  the Jilly imposter thread which was High Noon on steroids.

Too much splash from me and my mind is slightly taken over by drugs and the vertigo I am currently suffering from make the world appear in unreal shape like a mirage.

The forum still rocks in a way and more so by leaning back on the past and opening the holes of yore and letting energy pour from mouths long silenced. Tis a wondrous wondrous wondrous thing to see the dead speak once more with their old life force restored and intact.

My kingdom for a dead man !

Put it all down to the drugs Cormack or maybe the inspirations they release settle the old energies. Best to not keep anything in so says the Bible of splash and a good settling whether near the mark or off it bring a much needed calm. Even a dead calm. The forum is on an even keel – it has settled well. You wouldn’t bring back Razeen or Arzen but it’s not the end if this world. He was just the *rse if this house and everything else works. Only problem for me is, I often need to go to the toilet !

Pinza Grass are missed but they are still embedded in the woodwork. Diane lives Big O is a huge loss. That’s life – winning and losing. Try to win more but if you can’t do that – be happy.

Harold: “Who’s having a go at me? Can you think of anyone with an old score to settle?”

Razors: “Give over, who’s big enough to take you on?”

    Harold: “There was a few!”

    Razors: “Like who?”

    Harold: “They’re all dead.”

Forum life, like the movies, often seems larger than it really is.

    Thanks chief you have
    been hot yourself.
    But for me no alcohol
    Quite quite amazing !!!

You can’t tie a kangaroo down
and similarly it’s a combination of fact, theatre,
and a good combo of voices that combine to make a good forum. The voices repeat the facts and the theatre so that is why members and their makeup prove to be the most
important ingredient. People like me you and Sue.

    Having read the old today,
The combos then were less repressed in their words
    and less inhibited.
Obviously it was pioneer time and everything was a lot fresher and greener. We are a bit staid by comparison and there are far more competing platforms with a lot of money
to draw people in. You need
a certain number on a forum
    and certainly in the lounge
we are well short – unless
    you count the flies.
Other sections are better populated and fare better.
    Football took over the country
    Whereas racing is more of
    a quaint hobby or pursuit
and by that definition possibly attracts – the rather odd. That rather suits you Sir
    and me.

    JIM JTS RAISES THE BAR

“Dave why are you of all people sucking up people arses? I didn’t think you were the type, the remark regarding my website is childish but it’s there for anyone interested and free, it’s never been subject to “when it’s gone it’s gone”, inside knowledge? pmsl…. let’s say I know the true story and that’s for me and the person who told me, anyone else will have to make their own minds up, this forum is dying a death?…..lol.. I’m sure Daylight will come along with hits stats to let us know if it is or not, if people don’t like this forum then why do they keep visiting.

This is the best forum on the internet and probably always will be. ”

    JUST LIKE THE MOVIES

Jim wasn’t as suave as Hump the first man to play Bond
but there were convincing similarities. Jim ranting at the clock and Bogie ranting at his bird..

Well Mac I did wonder if you would come back on this and here you are. I spotted your post about an hour ago while travelling. Rather relieved it’s you and not LRM :-) – not that she would be expected back in these parts. I don’t know if you keep any contact, loose or otherwise but just wondered how she is faring these days. Possibly she remarried, or maybe you have lost touch. I was never close to her on here but obviously knew Daylight from my odd exchanges.

I have just got in and am rather tired tonight and will eat shortly and don’t want to write too much tonight, specially after so much yesterday. Well I do hope Debs has put the trauma of Craig’s (Daylight’s) sudden and shocking passing in 2006 behind her and has moved positively on with her life. They say time heals all things but that is not always the case.

I will set the scene on this. I mentioned the possibility of my taking over this forum at that sad time back then. Not really – I might have put my name forward if no-one else had come forward to save this place but not even sure on that. What rather surprised me was that people who might have been interested were not asked to come forward. It seems as if it was all decided behind closed doors – and there was a click presence back then Jim & Co – the insiders.

You are defending the status quo but let me tell you why I came to my conclusions
right or wrong – you say wrong but can you not see why I obviously think that money or some direct or indirect consideration was involved

I will expand further maybe tonight or tomorrow. A staggered approach – anyway it’s a long time I have spoken directly to you and you rarely venture out these days and suppose it is your two hats to blame. Difficult that because you used to enter in a lot more. B-)
